Travis Kelce's New Chiefs Contract Makes Him Highest Paid Tight End In NFL
Travis Kelce is having himself a year and is probably living his best life right now after signing a new contract with the Kansas City Chiefs.
After sweeping Taylor Swift off her feet, winning his third Super Bowl championship and receiving his University of Cincinnati diploma this Spring (while chugging beer), Kelce added another feather to his already-decorated cap by becoming the NFL's highest-paid tight end.
The 34-year-old secured a two-year extension deal with the Chiefs worth $34.25 million with $17 million guaranteed this upcoming season, ESPN reported.

The extension will keep the Ohio native in Kansas until 2027.
"Hard to put in words what Travis means to this organization, this city, and he was certainly a priority to adjust his contract for us and it was something that was important for Clark [Hunt]," Chiefs General Manager Brett Veach said, per ESPN.
"So very fitting that Travis [is] now the highest-paid tight end in these two years."
The new deal also puts Kelce in elite company, now being the highest-paid TE in the league. The crown for the NFL's highest-paid player in 2024 is currently held by Cincinnati Bengals' Joe Burrow who is making an average of $55 million per season.
Kelce also celebrated his contract extension with a video posted on the Chiefs' X account (formerly Twitter), addressing fans and promising to "get after" another Vince Lombardi trophy.
"Back at it again, baby!" greeted Taylor Swift's boyfriend.
"Feels good to be in KC ... it's an honor and a pleasure and I can't wait to get after it these next two years."
Kelce's teammate, Patrick Mahomes, also congratulated him on the milestone.
"I told y'all I'll never let him leave!! Congrats my guy!" he tweeted.
In the 2023 season, Kelce led the Chiefs in receiving yards with 984, among other stats. He was 16 yards short of posting his eighth straight 1,000-yeard season.
