Shonda Rhimes Accused Of Using Ozempic After Drastic Weight Loss: 'Ozempy Down'
Some netizens speculated that Shonda Rhimes might have used Ozempic after a new photo of her was shared by a prominent magazine.
The creator of "Grey's Anatomy" and "Scandal" recently posed as one of the cover stars for Variety's "Power of Women" lineup. In the photo taken by Victoria Stevens, Rhimes -- in her all-black jumpsuit accentuated by a pearl belt -- looked noticeably slimmer.
The television producer's magazine cover photo quickly gained different reactions from netizens, with some X users accusing her of using Ozempic to lose weight.
"Ozempy down. [I know, that's right], Shonda," one X user claimed.
"That Zempy hit the streets so hard," another commented.
"I need me some of that goddamn Ozempic," wrote someone else.
"Ozempic is really a game changer for obesity because wow," opined another person.
"OK f**k it, I'm about to try that Zempic," tweeted a different netizen.
"She got Oprah's Ozempic PR package. [I know, that's right]," a sixth X user alleged.
Meanwhile, other netizens came to Rhimes defense and said that she lost her extra weight many years ago.
"Shonda lost weight circa 2016/2017. She did the transformation pre-Ozempic. [The] second photo [was from] 2018. [The] third and fourth photos [were] from last year. Does she really look dramatically different for you to say it's Ozempic?" tweeted one netizen.
"To be fair, she lost 100 lbs a few years ago," wrote another.
"Why don't you all think people can lose weight the conventional way? LOL," asked someone else.
"She doesn't have [the] Ozempic face," claimed a different commenter.
Looking back to the showrunner's interview with Extra in 2015, she already shared that she lost 117 pounds after changing her eating habits and exercising.
"I changed everything I ate -- and I hated all of that -- and then I hate exercising and I did that, too, and I hated it the whole time," she revealed.
She also said that she would still eat the food she likes but in smaller portions.
"I try to make it much less and smaller portions, but you change what your palate wants. I'm suddenly craving fish and salad," she told Extra at a TGIT event at the time.
The esteemed showrunner added that her children motivated her to "get it together and get healthy."
"I just decided I was gonna get it together and get healthy; I have some little kids, and I want to be around for them."
