Several netizens criticized the resurfaced clip of Meghan Markle marching with the veterans at the Invictus Games in Germany in 2023.

The Duchess of Sussex has been present in most of Prince Harry's events for the Invictus Games. However, she will not join him at the special church service at St. Paul's Cathedral next week amid claims that she was making the sports event about her.

One netizen shared Markle's video seemingly leading the march with the veterans at a parade during the Invictus Games in Düsseldorf, Germany, on Sept. 15, 2023. In the caption, the user claimed Markle turned the event into a "complete joke."

"Over 2,000 veterans no longer wish to participate in the Invictus Games due to Meghan's involvement, stating that her speeches and presence undermine the event's original significance. She has turned the games into a complete joke," the caption read.

The post received several reactions, with several expressing dismay and disappointment at how she seemingly took over the event that Prince Harry started. Some jokingly said Markle used the event as her runway, or she probably thought it was a catwalk.

"Every time I see this footage I shake my head in disbelief that she thought it appropriate to 1. Even lead the parade -- the sheer audacity 2. To wear such a shockingly inappropriate outfit. Imagine one of the Royals walking down the street in what looks like summer pyjamas," one commented.

"Omg, look at her face..she thinks it's her runway," a second user wrote.

A third person added, "Smugly strutting like she founded the Invictus Games. Insufferable."

"And rightly so. She has made the Games a laughingstock. All about her own vanity project. She does not give one fig about any of the vets as you can clearly tell in this clip. She does not know the meaning of the word RESPECT. So get rid of them both. Made the games as a sham," a fourth person opined.

"This was absolutely cringeworthy and so disrespectful to the veterans..what on earth has she got to do with @WeAreInvictus..and what was she wearing.....she is using them to sell her jams," another added.

While many disparaged Markle's involvement in the Invictus Games, many fans continued to show their love and support for the Duchess of Sussex. For them, they were happy that she was involved in the event.

"You may think they are not very popular, but Invictus athletes and their families love Marry AND Meghan," one wrote.

"Shame on you for your hatred. She has only ever supported her husband & helped support the charity & veterans by his side, as any good wife would. Invictus has grown from strength to strength over the last decade with Harry's love & dedication & with Meghan's support since 2016," another added.

"Invictus games have grown from glory to glory since Meghan joined Harry. What is ruined? I see an org that is highly respected and valued globally and by the military. In fact, the military loves Meghan and particular[ly] ask[s] for her presence. You are jealous of her shine," a different user said.

Prince Harry's biographer, Angela Levin, previously claimed that the Duke of Sussex's supporters were "angry" and "sorry" for him that Markle had allegedly taken over the event. She also criticized the "Suits" alum for thinking she was "better than anyone" and considering herself "as globally famous."

"She comes over, she does a speech, she does a second speech, she leads people down the paths and the winners, and they say she knows nothing about fighting and going in wars," Levin said of Markle. "It was Harry's job, and, I think, they feel quite sorry for him. They're angry."
