Iman Shumpert Indirectly Praises Ex Teyana Taylor For Met Gala 2024 Look
Iman Shumpert posted an indirect tweet about his ex-wife Teyana Taylor's Met Gala red carpet look.
On Monday, the former professional basketball player tweeted, "Yeah you ate... but I ain't tellin' you that s**t," and many speculated that it was about Taylor's blonde wig and red slit gown. After getting some reactions from netizens, he deleted the tweet.
However, some responses to his post confirming that the indirect tweet was about Teyana remained visible on his page on X, formerly Twitter, via repost.
One of the tweets he reposted said, "That she did! The power of that blonde hair lil red dress combo!"
His response to a netizen, where he wrote, "LOL. It was a cute way to say she kilt it. But people don't laugh enough in life," could also be seen on his timeline.
During the prestigious Met Gala, the "A Thousand and One" actress arrived in a rose-red gown adorned with red and black flowers to match the theme "Garden of Time."
Her red gown featured a thigh-high slit and a red velvet train that accentuated her curves and fit body.
"It was originally for my burlesque show ("The Dirty Rose"), you know, I had the whole rose theme. It was originally for that, but then I ended up going a different way," she told ET about her outfit choice.
"At first, I was like, am I gonna be overwhelmed doing a concert and Met Gala, so I was wishy-washy on if I wanted to go. Then I woke up this morning and said, 'I feel good, my body ain't in four pieces; I'm going to the Met!'"
Iman and Teyana ended their seven-year marriage last year. The "Wake Up Love" artist reportedly filed for divorce from her then-husband in January 2023 because he had been allegedly involved in multiple cheating scandals while they were married, according to TMZ.
She also said at the time that she tried to keep the marriage, but he allegedly "reacted with further cruel treatment and selfishness."
She did not announce their split until September last year.
The two first met at a New York party in 2011. In 2014, they went Instagram official with a PDA-packed beach photo and attended the 2014 BET Hip Hop Awards as a couple.
They got engaged and welcomed their first child, Iman Tayla, in 2015 and officially tied the knot in 2016.
Now that they have separated, they are co-parenting Iman Tayla and their second child, Rue Rose, whom they welcomed in 2020.
