Kate Middleton In 'Vegetative State For Months' Claims Viral Tweet As Royal Family Mum On Cancer Treatment
Kate Middleton continues to be plagued by rumors about her health as she undergoes cancer treatment.
Two months after she announced her cancer diagnosis, a new rumor recently surfaced on X (formerly Twitter) that Middleton had been "in a vegetative state for months."
Before she released a video message in late March to set the record straight on her health, wild conspiracy theories and speculation circulated on social media about the Princess of Wales' condition and whereabouts, including that she was dead, dying or divorcing Prince William.
While the demand for details and proof of life has died down in the following weeks, the lack of updates regarding Middleton's cancer treatment and new images of her since the announcement seem to have given trolls and conspiracy theorists opportunity to speculate on the princess' condition.
In one viral tweet Sunday, one X user claimed that an anonymous "royal biographer" has alleged that "funeral arrangements are being made for Kate Middleton."
The post quoted the unnamed biographer as saying, "She's been in a vegetative state for months. They're writing eulogies and tributes for when the time comes to announce."
"WHAT?! #WhereIsKateMiddleton," the user added.
Snopes has since debunked this claim, declaring it to be "unfounded" due to a lack of evidence -- such as news reports and announcements from the royal family -- to support it.
However, this hasn't stopped some social media users from believing there may be some truth to the tweet.
One person claimed on X that they were "not surprised" by the claim that Middleton was in a vegetative state.
Another user wrote, "This is getting out of hand. Where is she?! They parade her outside thirty minutes after birth, after a 'cancer' diagnosis but we haven't seen her and now everyone is quiet except this person?!"
But many others took the post with a grain of salt and pointed out that Prince William has been giving positive updates regarding his wife's condition since the announcement.
Back in March, Middleton revealed that she was diagnosed with an unspecified form of cancer after undergoing a planned abdominal surgery in January.
The Princess of Wales said she was in the "early stages" of "a course of preventative chemotherapy."
Middleton assured royal fans at the time that she was "well" and "getting stronger every day."
On Friday, the Prince of Wales addressed Princess Kate's health during a solo tour of St. Mary's Community Hospital on the Isles of Scilly, an archipelago off the Cornish coast in southwestern England.
Hospital administrator Tracy Smith told reporters that she asked the heir to the British throne how Middleton has been doing amid her cancer battle, People reported.
According to Smith, Prince William replied, "She's doing well, thank you."
He also told Smith that their three children, Prince George, 10, Princess Charlotte, 9, and Prince Louis, 6, were "very jealous" over his trip to the Isles of Scilly, a favorite getaway for the Waleses.
