Queen Camilla Spotted With Rose Hanbury Months After Marchioness of Cholmondeley Denied Prince William Affair
Queen Camilla was seen with Rose Hanbury multiple times this week.
King Charles' wife attended the final day of the Badminton Horse Trials 2024 on May 12. The 40-year-old Marchioness of Cholmondeley, who was previously romantically linked to Prince William, was also in attendance.
In the photos obtained by Entertainment Tonight, Hanbury and Camilla were all smiles when they met. Both wore matching blue outfits.
The two women reportedly spoke to each other. Makeup artist Charlotte Tilbury, who rocked a floral dress, was also captured on camera when Queen Camilla and Hanbury were talking.
The two met again on Wednesday when the Marquess and Marchioness of Cholmondeley attended a service of dedication for the Order of The British Empire. However, the two women were not photographed together, ET noted. King Charles accompanied Queen Camilla during the event.
Queen Camilla and Hanbury's sightings were notable because the latter was previously rumored to have an affair with the former's stepson, the Prince of Wales. Prince William and Hanbury's alleged affair resurfaced earlier this year when netizens started to wonder where Kate Middleton was after she had been missing from the public spotlight for months since the Palace announced that she had abdominal surgery.
There were various speculations about the Princess of Wales' noticeable absence, with some wondering if she were still alive. Others claimed that she and Prince William had marital issues. Stephen Colbert joined the bandwagon and joked about the heir apparent's rumored affair with Hanbury on his late-night show.
"As we were talking about this show yesterday, the kingdom has been all fluttered by the seeming disappearance of Kate Middleton. Well now, internet sleuths are guessing that Kate's absence may be related to her husband's and the future king of England, William, having an affair," Colbert said in March.
"So, I think we all know who the alleged other woman is -- say it with me -- The Marchioness of Cholmondeley ... now, there have been rumors of an affair between William and [Hanbury] since 2019."
Hanbury shut down the rumors by releasing a statement denying the affair. Her lawyers said that the allegations were "completely false."
Prince William had already denied the affair allegations between him and Hanbury. His legal counsel even served legal warnings to at least one British publication for publishing details of the rumored tryst.
"In addition to being false and highly damaging, the publication of false speculation in respect of our client's private life also constitutes a breach of his privacy," read one of the letters from the law firm Harbottle and Lewis, representing Prince William, the Daily Beast reported.
