4-Year-Old Barron Trump Warned By Dad Donald Not To Do Drugs, Drink Alcohol In Viral Video
Donald Trump appeared to have had high expectations for his youngest son, Barron Trump, even before he started grade school.
As Barron graduated from high school Friday, a throwback video of him receiving advice and warnings about the future from his father resurfaced and went viral on X, formerly Twitter.
The clip showed a very young Barron, dressed in a black suit jacket, matching pants and a white button-down shirt, with his dad and his mom Melania inside what appeared to be Trump's office. According to CNN, Barron was 4 years old at the time the video was taken.
After being told by Melania that he was heading to school after lunch, Barron could be seen placing something inside his child-sized leather briefcase.
"You can do reading, writing, and arithmetic," Trump could be heard saying in the clip.
The video then cut to the real estate mogul asking his son to give him a goodbye kiss before he heads to school.
After young Barron kissed his dad on the cheek, Trump stopped him with a hand on his back and gave his youngest child some stern paternal advice.
"I want all A's," Trump told Barron. "OK, all A's. When you get older, what are you going to remember? No drugs, no alcohol, no cigarettes. And -- you know what else? No tattoos, I don't want ever to see tattoos on you.
Reacting to the video, a number of X users praised Trump and Melania over their parenting of Barron.
"Great mother great father equals great child [heart and folded hands emojis]," one person commented.
"Parenting at its finest!" a second X user wrote, while another praised Trump, writing: "What a good father!"
The video went viral as the Trump couple attended their now-18-year-old son's graduation ceremony in Florida Friday.
Photos captured by the Associated Press showed Barron -- who went to the elite Oxbridge Academy in West Palm Beach -- receiving his diploma on stage while sporting a white dress shirt, royal blue tie, a navy blue graduation hat and robe with a red silk sash.
Trump and Melania were captured in photos looking proud of Barron, with the former president even grinning and waving at their son at one point.
Trump has praised Barron's academic performance and athletic skills in various appearances over the years.
During a recent interview with "Kayal and Company" on Philadelphia's Talk Radio 1210 WPHT, the GOP 2024 presidential candidate described his teenage son as a "smart one" who is interested in politics and sometimes gives him advice.
"He's a great guy. He's a little on the tall side. I will tell you, he's a tall one," Trump said. "But he's a good-looking guy, and he's really been a great student and he does like politics."
He also confirmed that Barron will soon be headed to college, though he did not reveal which school his son has chosen.
According to an insider, Barron's mom will play a major role in the important decision.
"Melania will keep her hand on Barron's future just as much going forward as she has throughout his early and current school years," the unnamed source told People. "He is her world. She is proud of him, and she is the primary decision maker on Barron and his future."
