Angel Reese, Mom Refuel Feud With Flau'jae's Mother Kia Brooks Amid LSU Graduation

Angel Reese and her mother may have the last laugh.

While celebrating the young athlete's college graduation on social media over the weekend, the Chicago Sky star and her mom appeared to reignite their feud with the mother of Reese's ex-Louisiana State University teammate and pal Flau'jae Johnson with their pointed messages Saturday.

In a post on X, formerly Twitter, and Instagram, Reese clapped back at the naysayers who questioned her academic performance at LSU.

"So now what? [W]hat was said? [O]h okay that's what I thought. I graduated from THE LOUISIANA STATE UNIVERSITY IN 4 YEARS ON TIME. [I] thought somebody without a college degree said [something]," Reese captioned a series of photos of herself sporting a graduation cap.

Earlier that day, the WNBA star reposted a Daily Loud tweet from November 2023 that included a quote from Johnson's mother Kia Brooks slamming Reese's grades.

The post read, "LSU star basketball player Angel Reese has been suspended...it's being alleged [that it's] due to a low GPA. The speculation began when Angel Reese's mom and her teammate Flau'jae's mom started reportedly beefing on social media: 'You definitely know about grammar errors when your daughter has a 2.0 or less GPA' - Flau Jae mother on Angel Reese."

Meanwhile, Reese's mom, Angel Webb Reese, took to Instagram Stories to post a photo of her daughter sporting her graduation gown and cap.

She accompanied it with a message for those who speculated that her daughter had been benched during games last year over poor grades.

"For the most part, I think I did a good job in ignoring the naysayers when it comes to my children so y'all can keep listening to those folks who do not even know what GPA even stands for let alone have not sniffed a GPA since high school," Angel wrote, according to a screenshot obtained by Atlanta Black Star of the now-deleted post.

"I [have] a college degree as well as my ex-husband (my kids' father for y'all nosy folks) so yeah we both set an example in that regard. Now y'all can find something else to talk about. Meanwhile we [are] celebrating another accomplishment," the mom added.

Reese reposted her mother's Story and added: "My momma said what she said."

The feud began in November last year when Reese was benched by LSU's coach during a game early in the season.

Coach Kim Mulkey did not share the reason why she did not allow her star player to suit up for games at the time, only stating that it was a "coach's decision."

But speculation soon surfaced that it might have been due to Reese's grades.

During this time, her mom and Brooks launched a heated back-and-forth on social media that appeared to be connected to Reese's benching.

"Folks [please] do not send me long text [messages] with a bunch of grammatical errors it gives me a headache," Angel posted on Instagram Stories at the time, according to the New York Post.

Johnson's mother then fired back, throwing shade at Reese over her academic performance at LSU.

"You definitely know about grammar errors when your daughter got a 2.0 or less GPA," Brooks wrote in an Instagram Story. "And in fact when writing your smart message you didn't capitalize nor did you use any periods."

Brooks went on to accuse Angel of being "petty, fake and hateful" and asked her to "take responsibility" for her and her daughter's "actions."

"[You're] just as responsible you raised her that way. Nobody give a damn who you think you are since you came up off another's brand," Brooks claimed. "Just like God gave it to you he will take right away. Always stay humble and never forget who made you and where you came from!!"

Amid her mother's feud with Reese and Angel, Johnson expressed support for her former teammate after defending national champion LSU was knocked off the NCAA Tournament by Iowa last month.

"Everybody can have their opinion on Angel Reese, but y'all don't know her," Johnson said. "Y'all don't know Angel Reese. I know Angel Reese. I know the real Angel Reese and the person I see every day is a strong person, is a caring, loving person."
