A new lawsuit in North Carolina involves LaMelo Ball and the Charlotte Hornets, as a woman alleges that her 11-year-old son was seriously injured while attempting to get the NBA star's autograph.

The incident reportedly occurred on October 7 after the Hornets' loss to the Boston Celtics at Spectrum Center in Charlotte. Angell Joseph was waiting near the player exit, hoping to get a chance to meet the 22-year-old basketball star.

According to Angell's mother, Tamaria McRae, instead of stopping to sign an autograph for the young fan, LaMelo drove off, allegedly running over her son's foot in the process and breaking it.

McRae asserts that her son's injuries were not only physical; she claims he also experienced depression following the alleged incident.

"This is his hero, his idol, and he got run over by him," Cameron DeBrun, the family's attorney told WSOC-9.

Months after the incident, the family pursued legal action, alleging that Angell sustained injuries and damages amounting to over $25,000, although the precise figure remains unspecified.

Notably, numerous social media videos depict Ball hastily leaving the arena, reminiscent of a speeding bat, albeit with barriers in place to prevent fans from obstructing the players' path.

However, Tamaria McRae is directing blame towards the Hornets, suggesting that the organization failed to adequately safeguard fans.

As of now, LaMelo Ball has not made any public statements regarding the lawsuit.
