Candace Owens Sparks Debate Over Call To Ban Porn: 'Pornography Is A Psychological, Spiritual Weapon'
Candace Owens is against pornography, and she has made it known on social media, sparking debate.
Owens, 35, shared her opinion about pornography on X, formerly Twitter, earlier this week. The commentator and author wants porn to be banned, claiming it's a "psychological weapon."
"Ban pornography. It is a psychological weapon intended to weaken our men," she tweeted on Wednesday.
She doubled down on her take on porn in another tweet on Thursday. This time, she shared a longer commentary about her stand against pornography in response to one user who said that "porn was the star of all of my families[sic] problems."

The user said their dad went to prison when they were 12, and their parents divorced. They claimed that porn was to blame, with the netizen writing: "If my dad had never been exposed to porn at an early age, he wouldn't have abused minors. Porn is the devil."
"I'm sorry to hear this. An important story to share. Yes -- pornography is a psychological, spiritual weapon meant to deprave the tastes of men and women," Owens wrote in response.
She added that porn becomes "more depraved" every year, and young children in government-run schools are introduced to it, convincing them that it is "healthy to watch porn."
"They brought feminism, pornography, propaganda, and demented psychology as tools to crush the nations which opened their doors to them. Learn real history. They are targeting our children, men, and ultimately families via psychological violence," she continued.
"We either snap out of this cultural hypnosis, stop seeing things as 'left vs. right' and start fighting as 'team God' vs' team Satan,' or we lose. That's the reality we now face."
Owens' remarks about porn received mixed responses from the netizens. Many supported her as they agreed that porn is unhealthy and could be destructive.
"Ban pornography 100%," one netizen who supported her call commented.
Another added, "Porn is free because you pay with your soul."
"Thank you, Candace, for bringing attention to this issue!" a third person stated.
"It destroys families. Makes men have unrealistic expectations of women. My brother lost his family because of it. I'm sorry," a different user shared.
"I agree with you!" another supporter said.
A different commenter wrote, "You are great Candace we all support you."
However, others argued with Owens' stand. For them, banning porn was not the solution. One also shared a potential consequence if porn would be banned.
"I'll just j**k off to something else idgaf. Ban pornography, and you will find men like me in your bushes, mark my words," one commented.
Another remarked, "Oh for the love of god. Ban Banning!"
"What a horrible take, Candace," another said.
"Control yourself. The government is not the solution to life's problems," a different netizen suggested.
Another user said, "Running to government asking them to ban things isn't the type of freedom AMERICANS we're intended to live by." The netizen instead suggested: "Raise better humans, and the porno market disappears."
"Banning porn is not the answer. Educating folks on why they shouldn't consume porn is the answer. More government is never a good thing," a fifth netizen wrote.
