Massiel Taveras Pushes Cannes Security Guard Kelly Rowland Previously Scolded In New Viral Video: 'She Hasn't Been Fired?'
Massiel Taveras found herself in a similar situation as Kelly Rowland at the Cannes Film Festival.
On Wednesday, the "Other Penelope" actress walked the Cannes red carpet in a white dress with a long train printed with the image of Jesus Christ, TMZ reported. However, in a viral video that circulated on social media, the security personnel in an all-black uniform seemingly rushed her up the stairs while she kept on trying to lay out her gown so photographers could snap pictures of it. The security staff seemingly disapproved of the actress' gesture as they picked up the train of her gown and walked after her.
Eventually, when they were only a few steps away from the door, Taveras stopped and gestured to the security guards to let her be. She laid the train of her gown to expose the design and waved her hands to the crowd.

However, one of the security guards extended an arm in Taveras' direction and seemingly made her turn toward the door, so she could continue her entrance. At this point, the actress pushed the familiar-looking security guard. It turned out that she was the same security guard Rowland scolded in another viral video earlier this week over a similar situation.
The clip received several responses, with many wondering why the security guard was still working there following the incident with the "Mea Culpa" actress.
"I'm glad she pushed her cause who's she's playing with," one wrote.
Another added, "Why is this woman being so strict with women of color, but not others [thinking face emoji]."
"I don't understand so, she hasn't been fired?" a third person asked.
"The security guard who keeps putting their hands on people without cause needs to be released immediately," a different user suggested.
Another person said they hadn't seen the security personnel doing the same to a white person. However, the same lady guard has been doing it to "people of color."
"Specifically women of color, that's clearly discrimination, and I'm glad these women stood up for themselves, but they shouldn't have it; it's their moment!" another added.
Rowland addressed her row with the Cannes security guard in a statement to AP News two days after the incident when she attended the annual amfAR Cinema Against AIDS Cannes Gala. The former member of Destiney's Child seemingly accused the lady guard of racism and unfair treatment.
"That woman knows what happened. I know what happened," Rowland said. "I have a boundary, and I stand by those boundaries."
"There were other women that attended that carpet who did not quite look like me, and they didn't get scolded or pushed off, or told to get off. I stood my ground and she felt like she had to stand hers. But I stood my ground."
