Mike Tyson Dead And Funeral Searches Spike Amid Health Scare Ahead Of Jake Paul Fight
Mike Tyson's medical scare on a plane Sunday evening left a number of fans worried about the boxer.
Reports of the former heavyweight champ's health scare caused a spike in Google searches for "Mike Tyson dead" and "Mike Tyson funeral."
But representatives for Tyson, who is currently gearing up for a boxing match against Jake Paul in July, made it clear that fans have nothing to worry about as they announced that the 57-year-old is now doing well.
"Thankfully Mr. Tyson is doing great. He became nauseous and dizzy due to an ulcer flare up 30 minutes before landing. He is appreciative to the medical staff that were there to help him," his reps said in a statement obtained by In Touch Weekly.
This is not the first time Tyson has had to fight off rumors that he died.
In 2021, Snopes debunked speculation that the boxer passed away, which the outlet suggested may have stemmed from remarks Tyson himself made.
While speaking to the New York Post in November of that year, Tyson said he felt like he "died" while describing his first time trying toad venom, a psychedelic drug.

In Touch reported, citing unnamed eyewitnesses, that Tyson had a "medical emergency" while on an American Airlines flight from Miami to Los Angeles Sunday.
The medical issue reportedly required paramedics to board the plane upon landing and assist him.
Around half an hour before landing, passengers were asked if there were any medical professionals on board as someone needed assistance, an eyewitness told the outlet.
The flight had been delayed for two hours prior to takeoff, but Tyson's reps denied that the boxer's medical situation was the reason.
In a statement to USA Today Sports, the reps said the delay was "due to an air conditioning issue on the aircraft."
The medical scare soon cast doubt on the likelihood of his upcoming bout with Paul -- Tyson's first officially sanctioned fight since 2005 -- pushing forward.
However, the YouTuber-turned-boxer insisted that the match will take place as scheduled.
"You love to make s**t up before knowing the facts for clicks / likes. Nothing changed #PaulTyson," Paul wrote on X, formerly Twitter.
Tyson and Paul will meet over eight two-minute rounds at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas, on July 20.
