Melania, Barron And Ivanka Express Support For Donald Trump After Guilty Conviction Despite Not Showing Up In Court
Donald Trump's family showed support following his guilty conviction in his hush money trial.
Trump's wife, Melania, and daughter, Ivanka, were noticeably missing during the trial. None of them showed up in court to support him amid his legal battle. However, they were by his side following his conviction, which made him the first U.S. president to be tried and convicted.
Melania and Barron were reportedly at the Trump Tower, and Ivanka also came with her husband, Jared Kushner.
"Everyone has gathered around Trump at Trump Tower," an unnamed source told Page Six.
The source said it was unclear when Trump's wife and youngest son arrived at their Manhattan residence. Melania and Barron were reportedly "smuggled in through the side entrance." There were claims that she was already at the Trump Tower when the verdict was announced.
"It's like a funeral ... There was hope all day and then none!" the source continued. "Everyone says Melania and the entire family are rallying around the former president. But the mood is nonetheless gloomy and gloomier right now. It's definitely viewed as a downer at Mar-a-Lago."
The insider added that everyone was "upset." Trump also reportedly talked to his family and seemingly assured them even after being convicted of 34 felonies.
"Trump talked to both Melania and all his children, including Ivanka. [But] Trump says the real verdict will take place in November when the people vote," the source added.
Before Ivanka's arrival to be with her father, she showed her support for him in a post on social media. She shared a throwback photo when she was still a child with her dad, Trump.
"I love you, dad," she wrote in the caption of her Instagram Story.
Another source claimed that despite Ivanka distancing herself from politics, she was allegedly considering a re-entry to the campaign trail. However, her dad's conviction may have negatively affected her plans.
"The verdict will put a damper on Ivanka's entry into the campaign, and she'll probably now wait until the convention," the source said.
Meanwhile, Trump was seen smiling and laughing with his lawyer, Todd Blanche, before the verdict was read. His disposition changed after his conviction. His face was red, and he was frowning when he exited the courtroom. Trump later criticized the verdict.
"This was a disgrace. This was a rigged trial by a conflicted judge who was corrupt. It's a rigged trial, a disgrace," he said.
