Prince William and King Charles have talked about the future of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's royal titles, according to a columnist.

Daily Mail columnist Maureen Callahan recently appeared on GB News. She weighed in on the Prince of Wales' feelings about Prince Harry potentially releasing a second book after "Spare." She also mentioned that the monarch and the heir-apparent are considering the removal of the Duke and Duchess of Sussex's royal titles after their three-day trip to Nigeria.

"William and Charles have been actively discussing stripping Harry and Meghan of their royal titles in the wake of their Nigeria tour," Callahan said. "But they likely never will because they don't want to give them something else to gripe about. Another quiver in their arsenal."

She added, "They're in a difficult position of trying to abide and rise above while also not being seen to co-sign these ridiculous cosplaying trips as royals with monetizations."

She also claimed that Prince William seemed "terrified" of his younger brother's second book as it might be "filled with more grievances." Callahan said the royal family members "have to close ranks and not do anything to poke to bear."

Tom Quinn, royal biographer and commentator, previously spoke about the possible reaction from the royals following the Sussexes' recent trip to an African nation. The author of "Kensington Palace: An Intimate Memoir from Queen Mary to Meghan Markle" claimed that the father and son were not happy because it appeared that Prince Harry and his wife couldn't accept that they were no longer working royals.

The Sussexes were welcomed with dances and receptions during their trip. They also visited schools and charities, so the visit was like a royal tour. Per Quinn, Prince Harry and Markle's visit was treated like it was an "official tour" even though they visited Nigeria as private citizens.

"William is absolutely furious and determined to find a way to stop this happening in [the] future. Charles is said to be angrier than anyone has ever seen him," Quinn told the Mirror.

"William and his father, King Charles, don't like it one bit," Quinn added. "For Charles and William, it's as if Meghan and Harry are saying, 'We don't need your permission to be working royals -- we will do it on our own terms whenever and wherever we like.'"

Jack Royston, chief royal correspondent at Newsweek, also described the Sussexes' Nigeria trip as "very close to an old-school royal tour." According to him, what Prince Harry and Markle did during the trip was very much like what the royals would do during their official tours.
