Sabrina Carpenter is under fire for her new album cover.

The "Espresso" singer is gearing up to release her album, 'Short 'n Sweet,' on August 23. She recently released the album cover, with many saying the cover art looks familiar.

Carpenter, 25, is being accused of stealing her cover from a French magazine. The album cover features herself, seemingly topless, looking over her left shoulder. On the back of her left shoulder, there is a red lipstick kiss mark.

Fans quickly drew comparisons of France's 2015 'Cosmopolitan' magazine cover that showcased a very similiar photo featuring model Tiffany Collier.

The masses have taken to Twitter, now known as X, to critique the singer for her choice of cover art. One user tweeted: "Just literally copied and pasted the inspo." Others, however, argued that Carpenter did nothing wrong. From a legal stand point they explained, "It's complicated but legally it's just inspiration cause anyone can do this, but if she were to take the original and just put it as her cover then that'd be stolen."

In the Instagram post where she debuted the album cover she wrote in the caption, "I also have a surprise coming for you on Thursday night so keep an eye out!"

The Pennsylvania native has not spoken out about the album cover's backlash, but according to Pop Crush, she will release the music video to her single, "Please Please Please" on Thursday.
