Prince Harry, Meghan Won't Let Royals' 'Negativity' Stop Them From Arranging More Tours: 'Their Conscience Is Completely Clear'
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are not bothered by the royal family's alleged reaction to their trip to Nigeria, according to a source.
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex paid a three-day visit to the African nation last month. Prince William and King Charles were reportedly furious about the trip because they were treated like royals even though they visited the country as private citizens. However, the alleged reaction from the royal family would reportedly not stop them from making similar trips abroad.
"Meghan and Harry aren't surprised that the royals have found fault with their tour of Nigeria, they're disappointed for sure, but not surprised. And they're certainly not going to let their negativity stop them from arranging more tours," an unnamed source told Closer.
"Their conscience is completely clear on this plan because they intend to do good wherever they go," the source added.
According to the tipster, the Sussexes are spreading a "really positive message" and have no plans to "limit themselves to the Commonwealth." They reportedly plan to continue what they do and do it better than the royals.
"They want to make this bigger and better than what the Royals have done in the past. They're totally unfazed by any problems this might create with the Royals," the tipster continued.
The source added that when Prince Harry and Markle left the United Kingdom and moved to the United States, they planned to continue doing their charity work. Initially, they hoped to do it "under the banner of the Royal family." However, since they were not allowed to do so, they now intend to do it on their own terms.
The insider also said it was a "genuine calling" for Prince Harry as he witnessed his mom, Princess Diana's joy in serving others. He allegedly "vowed not to let the monarchy stop him."
The former actress reportedly shares the "exact same outlook." Markle has been doing humanitarian work even before she met Prince Harry and will continue doing so without the royal family's approval.
"All she and Harry want to do is help people, but of course, from William and Charles's perspectives what they're doing is way out of line," the source claimed.
Tom Quinn, a royal biographer and commentator, told the Mirror that the British monarch was "angrier than anyone has ever seen him," and the Prince of Wales was "absolutely furious" and wanted to stop the Sussexes from repeating what they did in Nigeria on their future trips.
"William and his father, King Charles, don't like it one bit," Quinn claimed. "For Charles and William, it's as if Meghan and Harry are saying, 'We don't need your permission to be working royals -- we will do it on our own terms whenever and wherever we like.'"
