Prince Harry will face "consequences" if he does not stop publicly discussing the royal family's private matters, a royal author has claimed.

Tom Quinn suggested that King Charles III is apparently done tolerating the Duke of Sussex's controversial comments and revelations about the royal family following his tell-all memoir, "Spare."

The royal expert claimed to The Mirror U.K. that King Charles has "directly" asked Prince Harry "not to write or say publicly anything further about the family or his brother that might cause trouble." Enstarz could not independently verify this information.

"And everyone knows that when a king asks you to do something there are going to be consequences if you do not obey," Quinn added.

Quinn noted that Prince Harry's goal was to get an apology from King Charles and Prince William and for his father and older brother to "make amends."

However, the royal author said Prince Harry airing his family's dirty laundry was the wrong method if his aim was to reconcile with King Charles and Prince William.

"Harry just can't see that complaining in private might work. Complaining publicly just makes things worse, and in Harry's case, that means more and more ties to his past being severed," Quinn told the outlet.

Prince Harry has been estranged from King Charles and Prince William since he and Meghan Markle quit royal duties and moved from the U.K. to California in 2020.

Since the move, Prince Harry has made several bombshell revelations about the royal family during his and Markle's 2021 interview with Oprah Winfrey, the Sussexes' 2022 Netflix docuseries "Harry & Meghan," and his memoir.

Among these claims were that King Charles allegedly declared Prince Harry a "spare" on the day of his birth and that Prince William physically attacked him during an argument related to Markle.

Prince Harry also claimed in his book that Prince William and his wife Kate Middleton encouraged him to wear the controversial Nazi costume he donned in 2005.

But while promoting "Spare" last year, the Duke of Sussex said in an interview with ITV that he would like to have his father and brother back and that he wanted "a family, not an institution."

He insisted that "the door is always open" for a reconciliation with his family members but that "the ball is in their court."

Hopes were raised that Prince Harry's frosty relationship with his father and brother finally thawed when the Duke of Sussex rushed to the U.K. in February to visit King Charles following the news of his cancer diagnosis.

Following the brief visit, Prince Harry told "Good Morning America" that he loves his family and plans to see them as much as he can in the future.

But while many royal experts appear optimistic about Prince Harry and King Charles' reconciliation, the same can't be said when it comes to the two brothers.

Royal expert Katie Nicholl recently told Entertainment Tonight that Prince William and Prince Harry's relationship remains "at an all-time low."
