Miley's Dad Billy Ray Cyrus Files For Divorce Over Fraud Just 7 Months After Wedding To Firerose
Billy Ray Cyrus has reportedly filed for divorce only seven months after tying the knot with singer Firerose.
In documents obtained by E! News, Miley Cyrus' dad, 62, listed his separation from Firerose, 35, on May 22, 2024, and cited irreconcilable differences and inappropriate marital conduct in his filing.
Billy Ray also reportedly claimed that their marriage was obtained by fraud, so he is asking the court if they could grant him an outright annulment.
"He gave consent to marriage based on fraud by the wife, that had he known he would not have entered into the bonds of matrimony," the documents indicated.
Following his filing for divorce, he seemingly kicked his estranged wife from their home and funded her $5,000 a month for 90 days for her to find suitable housing for that period or until their divorce got finalized.
As they did not have any children together, there are no child support agreements to be talked about.
Per TMZ, it looked like the older singer-songwriter submitted his paperwork quietly and "without anyone noticing."
The "Butterfly Fly Away" artist's divorce from the "After the Storm" artist is his third one. He was previously married to Cindy Smith (1986 to 1991) and Tish Cyrus (1993 to 2022), with whom he has three children -- Miley, Braison and Noah.
Billy and Firerose first met on the set of "Hannah Montana" over a decade ago before they started to date. They got engaged in 2022 and tied the knot in October 2023.
Just last April, Firerose took to Instagram to share a milestone in their love story -- their sixth month as a married couple.
"Six months ago, I married this man. Life isn't always easy... but it sure helps when your husband's also your best friend. Thank you, Lord!" she captioned her post.
From actively posting about their romance on social media, the two are no longer following each other on Instagram as of late. Firerose's post is still up though.
