Brad Pitt 'Devastated' Shiloh, Kids Dropped His Last Name; Relationship With Angelina Jolie's Sons 'Nonexistent'
Brad Pitt was reportedly crushed by his daughter Shiloh Jolie-Pitt and other children's decision to denounce his last name amid his ongoing divorce and legal battle with their mother, Angelina Jolie.
An unnamed insider told Us Weekly that Pitt was "devastated" when he learned that Shiloh filed a petition in Los Angeles County Superior Court to drop the "Pitt" from her full name as soon as she turned 18 last month.
The outlet also confirmed the reports that Shiloh hired a lawyer to handle the case.
"To him, it was more than a change of name -- it was a symbol of a deeper estrangement that has been brewing for years," the insider said of Pitt.

Shiloh's move came after her older sister, Zahara, 19, chose not to use the Pitt surname while introducing herself at a sorority initiation ceremony late last year.
Recently, the surname of Pitt and Jolie's youngest daughter Vivienne was listed as Jolie instead of Jolie-Pitt in the playbill for "The Outsiders," the Broadway musical the 15-year-old co-produced with her mom.
Pitt also remains on the outs with their older sons Maddox, 22, and Pax, 20, who have "found it difficult to reconcile with Brad despite his repeated apologies and efforts to rebuild trust," the source added.
"Brad's relationship with Maddox and Pax is nonexistent at this point, and he barely, if ever, hears from Zahara," another unnamed insider told Us Weekly.
The second source claimed that the kids distanced themselves from their father out of loyalty for Jolie, who first filed papers to end her marriage to the actor in 2016.
"They've struggled to forgive and connect with Brad since the divorce. Their mom is the head of the household, and she's raised them with love and selflessness their whole lives," the insider said. "Once Brad left, it was very hard for them to see him go to war with her."
Despite not having been photographed with them in a long time, Us Weekly's sources claimed Pitt still sometimes hangs out with his three biological children with Jolie -- Shiloh, Vivienne and her twin brother Knox -- at his Los Angeles home, which is located not far from their mother's residence.
However, their relationship is reportedly no longer close.
While Jolie and Pitt were declared by a judge legally single in 2019, their divorce battle rages on.
Amid their contentious divorce and custody battle, Jolie has accused her ex-husband of assaulting and verbally abusing her and two of their kids during a flight in 2016.
Pitt, who has not been charged with a crime, denied the allegations.
In 2022, he sued the Oscar-winning actress for selling her part of their French vineyard to a Russian oligarch in an allegedly vindictive move to "seize profits."
Jolie's lawyers, however, alleged that the exes never codified an agreement to only sell shares to one another.
They also claimed that Jolie offered to sell her stake to Pitt, but he allegedly tried to force her to sign a non-disclosure agreement preventing her from speaking about the abuse allegations.
