Kate Middleton made her first public appearance since publicizing her cancer diagnosis at Trooping the Colour, but some online users were still unsure if she was really the woman they saw on the balcony.

The Princess of Wales had been missing for months after she announced her cancer diagnosis in March. Prior to that, royal fans had been missing her because she was also not seen after the Palace announced her abdominal surgery in January.

On Saturday, the Duchess of Cambridge made her return to the public spotlight. Middleton appeared to be in good spirits as she joined King Charles, Queen Camila, Prince William and her three children -- Prince George, 10, Princess Charlotte, 9, and Prince Louis, 6 -- on the balcony. However, social media users still questioned her attendance, with some speculating that the woman was a body double.

"The Kate body double. This is not Kate Middleton," one claimed.

Another added, "That's definitely not her! Her face does not have the contour and sharpness that this replacement does! Those poor children know!"

"Something weird is going on with her. From the park video to her being quiet, something isn't right. Hopefully, the real Kate Middleton is doing ok," a third person wrote, implying he was also not convinced the woman at Trooping the Colour was Middleton.

While many were not convinced that the woman at the recent public event was Middleton, several also shut down the speculations because, for them, it was definitely the Princess of Wales.

"Kate Middleton has been missing for months. But don't worry -- here she is! It's definitely NOT a body double," one tweeted, along with a photo of Middleton smiling in a carriage during the ceremony.

"Looks like Kate Middleton to me," another user opined, before asking, "Has she always been that skinny?"

"It's probably her treatment (chemotherapy, etc). She's probably lost a decent amount of weight. She was thin to begin with. God bless her [praying hand emoji] & everyone that is suffering from an illness," another social media user replied.

"She's real Prince Kate Middleton, I watch the ceremony live and she's really getting better from cancer," another person said.

"It is her, but she is very thin and probably weak.

Please do not be harsh to her, be joyous she got dressed and is out," a different online user added.

A different user sarcastically said it was not Middleton because it was "Catherine, the Princess of Wales." The sameonline user also questioned those who speculated about Middleton using a body double in public, where half of the United Kingdom could see her and where she stood alongside her kids during the entire ceremony.

"And oh yes! Did they teach their children to pretend it's their mother?" the @LoonyLobster added.

The Prince and Princess of Wales' official social media account also shared a video from the same event when Middleton and her children were waiting for their carriage ride. The post was flooded with several warm messages from fans who were happy to see Middleton after being away from the public limelight for months.

"Great to see you back [purple heart emoji]. The country has missed you," one commented.

Another royal fan wrote, "Bless you. It's so amazing to see you & don't let anyone else tell you otherwise."

"Great to have you back Princess Catherine [red heart emoji]," another supporter stated.
