Meghan Markle is open to moving to the United Kingdom but has two conditions for Prince Harry, according to a royal expert.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex left the U.K. and moved to the United States in 2020. However, Prince Harry is still fighting to change the current level of personal security whenever he visits his home country, prompting some to speculate that he wants to return to England. Royal expert and author Tom Quinn weighed in on the issue, claiming the former actress may be willing to return to England if her husband could meet her two conditions.

"Meghan has said she's only prepared to return to England if she and Harry have a place of their own and the security they both feel is essential. Meghan will never return to the UK and stay with her husband's relatives," Quinn told the Mirror.

"If the couple manage to find a permanent home and sort out the security issue they will certainly want to bring their children to the UK, but it's going to take a lot of diplomacy to get to the point where Archie and Lili are able to develop a genuine and warm relationship with their cousins George, Charlotte and Louis."

Quinn's remarks came after the Duke of Sussex received the green light to appeal a High Court ruling about the removal of his security in the U.K. In February, the High Court in London ruled that the decision to remove Prince Harry's tax-funded security after he quit his royal duties was lawful. In April, his effort to challenge the ruling was rejected, but he was advised to direct it to the Court of Appeal, which is now open to hear his challenge following the direct application from his lawyers, Reuters reported.

Quinn also claimed that Prince William's brother had started looking for homes in Britain. The author of "Kensington Palace: An Intimate Memoir from Queen Mary to Meghan Markle" added that Prince Harry missed "some aspects" of his home country.

"As time goes by, Harry misses some aspects of his old life in the UK. Inevitably, the honeymoon period, when everything in the States is new and exciting, is coming to an end, and Harry is looking back at the past through rose-tinted spectacle," Quinn said.

"He misses his Old Etonian and army friends, many of whom have not visited as they don't get on with Meghan. Harry is determined to find his own permanent home in the UK, partly because he's continuing his legal action to get the British taxpayer to pay for his security."
