Jodie Turner-Smith Reacts To Lupita Nyong’o Dating Joshua Jackson Only One Month After She Filed For Divorce
Jodie Turner-Smith, who ended her four-year marriage with actor Joshua Jackson, has commented on Jackson's new relationship with Lupita Nyong'o.
Turner-Smith, 37, revealed to 'The Cut' that their separation was due to "different paths" when she filed in September 2023.
However, Jackson's single status was short-lived. On October 18, Jackson was seen getting close to Nyong'o during a Janelle Monáe performance in Inglewood, California. The day after, Nyong'o declared on Instagram her split from Selema Masekela, a former ESPN analyst. Nyong'o, 41, and Jackson, who is estranged from the 'Queen & Slim' actress, have been observed together multiple times in public settings.
Since their split, Turner-Smith has largely kept her personal affairs out of the spotlight. When asked about her estranged husband's new flame nearly a month after filing for divorce, she told 'The Cut' "good for them."
"We need happiness in order to peacefully co-parent," she said. "I'm trying to get us to the Gwyneth and Chris Martin level. I truly hope they're happy and that it benefits us as a family."
The U.K. native expressed her commitment to ensuring a smooth transition for their daughter, Juno, as she and Jackson, 46, adapt to co-parenting. She emphasized the importance of creating a nurturing environment for their 4-year-old and focusing on Juno's well-being.
"I just have to do everything that I can to set Juno up to win," she said. "And to peacefully co-parent with someone whom I once loved very, very much."
