Sexyy Red is once again facing controversy over her comments.

The 26-year-old rapper, born Janae Nierah Wherry, sparked outrage on social media Friday after she referred to 4C hair as "carpet hair."

The controversy began after Sexyy Red posted a video of her long, straight black hair on Instagram and X, formerly Twitter.

In the clip, a person's hand could be seen touching Sexyy Red's hair before the "Get It Sexyy" rapper herself runs her fingers through her tresses.

"You carpet hair beanie neck haux could never," Sexyy Red captioned the clip.

She later followed this up with a post that read: "I [f**k with] people wit[h] carpet hair, [they] coo[l], but if you [are] talkin' [s**t], [I'm going to] call you 'carpet hair.' [Nothing]' against my fello[w] 4C hoochies."

Fans and social media users praised the rapper over her hair, with many describing it as "beautiful" and "healthy."

However, others took issue with Sexyy Red over her derogatory comments toward the Black community and accused her of being "texturist" and "anti-Black."

"We can simultaneously have length and NOT be texturist," an X user commented. "There's a texture before it hits the iron for everyone."

"Not only is she disrespecting us, but she's supplying these people with other insults to throw at us. That s**t is not cool," one Instagram user wrote under The Shade Room's post about Sexyy Red's comments.

"Who taught you to hate the color of your skin, the texture of your hair??? Don't promote that [bulls**t] over here. All my Black people hair is beautiful no matter what type it is. Stop giving people like this a platform to disrespect our people," another commented.

A second X user called out Sexyy Red over her explanation, writing: "Carpet hair? [Shaking my head]...because someone said they didn't believe you had naturally long, healthy hair, you call them carpet hair? The way self-haters can't have discourse without being anti-Black is crazy."

Just a little over a week ago, Sexyy Red also became the talk of the internet when she shared new photos of herself that triggered plastic surgery rumors.

One snap shared on X and Instagram Story was a close-up of her chest, with clear tape peaking out from under her black bra.

A second image obtained by The Shade Room showed Sexyy Red with what appeared to be white bandages covering her breasts as she posed in front of balloons and flowers.

The photos immediately had fans questioning whether or not she underwent surgery to enhance her appearance.
