Prince William 'Cut Ties' With Prince Harry For This Reason, Royal Expert Claims
Prince William and Prince Harry are not on speaking terms because the former thinks that's what's best, at least for his mental health, according to a royal expert.
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex have a strained relationship with the royals after they quit their duties in 2020 and moved to the United States. They exacerbated the issue with their 2021 interview with Oprah Winfrey, 2020 "Harry & Meghan" Netflix docuseries and Prince Harry's memoir "Spare." Now, the Prince of Wales reportedly has no plans to speak to his younger brother because it's better than getting annoyed at him.
"William is sensitive, he likes structure and has perseverance. He does not give up easily," Ingrid Seward, a royal biographer and editor-in-chief of Majesty Magazine, told the Mirror. "His relationship with brother Harry upset him more than he would care to admit. But he found it easier to cut ties rather than allow himself to be continually annoyed."
Seward pointed out the heir apparent's challenging year. His father, King Charles, and wife, Kate Middleton, were both diagnosed with cancer earlier this year. He has to play as dad and mom to his and Middleton's three children -- Prince George, 10, Princess Charlotte, 9, and Prince Louis, 6. -- while still supporting the monarchy.
The Prince of Wales is still active in his royal duties and even represented King Charles and Britain at the 80th anniversary of the D-Day landings on Omaha Beach in France earlier this month. Despite having a tough year, Seward believes that the challenges have only made the future king "stronger," and his late mom, Princess Diana, would have been proud of him.
"The traumas of the past year have made him a stronger person. He has become the kind of man Diana always hoped he would be. Kind considerate and able to take on whatever life throws at him," Seward continued.

Prince Harry has been open about wanting to reconcile with his father and brother. In an interview with Anderson Cooper for "60 Minutes" in January 2023, when he was promoting his book, he confirmed that he had not spoken or texted with his big brother, but he was looking forward for them to "find peace."
Christopher Andersen, a royal author and commentator, recently spoke with Fox News about Prince Harry's relationship with King Charles and Prince William. Andersen claimed that the Duke of Sussex was already getting "angrier and frustrated" because his family kept on ignoring them.
"The King and the Princess of Wales' cancer battles have made it easier for both King Charles III and Prince William to put Harry out of their minds," Andersen explained. "They are both shunning him now because they can't afford not to -- they simply can't handle the distraction."
