Meghan Markle likely isn't pleased to see Taylor Swift being chummy with her brother-in-law Prince William after the pop superstar turned down her podcast invitation years ago, according to royal commentators.

The Prince of Wales and his two older children, Prince George and Princess Charlotte, attended one of Swift's "Eras Tour" concerts in London and posed for a now-viral selfie with the "Cruel Summer" hitmaker after the show Friday, which was also William's 42nd birthday.

A fan-taken video of the heir to the British throne showing off his dance moves during Swift's show also went viral, drawing more attention to William's reunion with the singer.

But while numerous fans gushed over the "Anti-Hero" singer hanging out with the royal trio, Sky News Australia host Rita Panahi and royal correspondent Kinsey Schofield claimed that there was one person who might not be happy about Swift meeting Prince William and his kids: the Duchess of Sussex.

"If there's one thing that Meghan covets above all else, it's celebrity attention, and the former actress probably isn't going to be happy with Taylor Swift making time for William and his children," Panahi claimed on Sky News Australia.

"That's a very good point. If you'll recall, Meghan Markle handwrote a note to Taylor Swift asking her to appear on her podcast. And Taylor had her people reach back out to Meghan and decline that invitation," Schofield said.

After Markle and Prince Harry parted ways with Spotify in June last year, it emerged that Swift rejected the former "Suits" star's invitation to appear on her "Archetypes" podcast, which had featured interviews with Mariah Carey. Serena Williams. Mindy Kaling. Issa Rae, and Paris Hilton in its first and, so far, only season in 2022.

The Wall Street Journal reported that despite receiving a handwritten note from the duchess, Swift declined Markle's offer through a representative.

Weeks later, People reported, citing an unnamed insider, that Markle attended one of Swift's "Eras Tour" shows at SoFi Stadium in Los Angeles with a pal and was even seen dancing and singing along to "You Belong with Me."

But though Markle appears to be a fan of Swift, Schofield noted that Prince William and the pop star go way back.

In 2013, the singer and the royal joined Jon Bon Jovi on stage during a charity event at Kensington Palace to perform "Livin' on a Prayer'."

During a separate interview with GB News, Schofield suggested that Swift publicly interacting with Prince William and his kids following her rejection of Markle's invitation showed the singer is "Team Wales."

"I think we are seeing our Taylor side with Team Wales here over the last few hours," Schofield claimed.

Reports claimed that Markle and Prince Harry have been estranged from Prince William and Kate Middleton since the Sussexes stepped back from royal duties and moved to California in 2020.

The rift between the two couples reportedly widened after Markle and Prince Harry's Oprah Winfrey interview, Netflix docuseries, and his memoir, "Spare."

"Relations between the Sussexes and the Wales remains at an all-time low," royal expert Katie Nicholl told Entertainment Tonight earlier this month. "I'm told that William and Harry really are not even on speaking terms."
