‘Scary’ Prince William To Rule With ‘A Rod Of Iron’ Like Prince Philip; Allegedly Enforced Harry’s ‘Absolute Ban’: Report
Prince William will use the same approach as his late grandfather, Prince Philip, when he ascends the throne, according to a source.
The Prince of Wales, who has a lot on his plate, beat King Charles on the Daily Beast's new royal list with a popularity rating of 67% and fame of 97%. The heir apparent has to deal with his father and wife Kate Middleton's cancer battles, look after their three children -- Prince George, 10, Princess Charlotte, 9, and Prince Louis, 6 -- and continue his royal duties. An unnamed source told the outlet that he would likely rule with "a rod of iron" when he becomes the British monarch.
"There is a sense that William has stepped into the Prince Philip role. Philip ruled the family with a rod of iron, and you saw when he died that discipline collapsed," the tipster said. "Now William is calling the shots when it comes to family discipline. He can be scary!"
The outlet noted that the most notable effect was the Prince of Wales allegedly being the "enforcer" of Prince Harry's "absolute ban." The heir apparent reportedly doesn't want the Duke of Sussex to return to the family fold in any way, shape, or form.
The Duke of Cambridge allegedly refused to talk to his younger brother, which, according to the source, only "tells you everything you need to know about who is really in charge."
Earlier this year, reports claimed that Prince Harry had offered to return to his official duty temporarily after His Majesty announced his cancer diagnosis. However, the King and the heir apparent shared the same stand of not welcoming him back to the fold.
"Have the King and Harry been speaking? Yes," an unnamed source told the Daily Mail. "Does this mean a return to the fold, even on a temporary basis? No. Aside from a small number of investitures, the King does not plan to offload a great number of duties on other family members while he undergoes treatment."
Irish journalist Kevin O'Sullivan of TalkTV also made a similar claim. According to him, Prince Harry was not returning to his duties because neither his father nor brother wanted him back.
"He's never coming back, and not only does William not want him back, nor does the king," O'Sullivan claimed.
Meanwhile, an unnamed source told Closer that the Duke of Sussex wanted to join his family at this year's Trooping the Colour. He allegedly did everything to score an invite, but he didn't get any, leaving him "heartbroken and confused by the way they've cut him off."
