Jamie Lee Curtis and Lindsay Lohan have reunited on set, bringing joy to fans, following Disney's release of a sneak peek into the making of "Freaky Friday 2."

The eagerly awaited sequel has commenced filming, marking the return of Lohan and Curtis to their beloved characters, Anna and Tess Coleman, respectively.

Disney has kept the storyline of the highly anticipated sequel to the beloved 2003 comedy "Freaky Friday" under wraps, but they've confirmed that "Freaky Friday 2" will be hitting theaters in 2025, dispelling earlier rumors of a potential exclusive release on Disney+.

The original film was a major hit at the box office, earning $160 million worldwide. 

Reuniting with Lindsay Lohan and Jamie Lee Curtis in the sequel are several familiar faces from the first movie: Mark Harmon, Chad Michael Murray, Christina Vidal Mitchell, Haley Hudson, Lucille Soong, Stephen Tobolowsky, and Rosalind Chao are all returning. 

Joining the cast are newcomers Julia Butters, Manny Jacinto, Maitreyi Ramakrishnan, and Sophia Hammons. 

The official announcement for the sequel came in March 2023, following extensive speculation and hints dropped by both Lohan and Curtis.

Directed by Nisha Ganatra, "Freaky Friday 2" draws from her experience on Hulu's "Welcome to Chippendales" and her work on feature films such as "The High Note" and "Late Night." 

Jamie Lee Curtis ignited the sequel's buzz during an appearance on "The View" in October 2022, revealing that she had personally lobbied Disney to greenlight the project. 

Returning as producer for the sequel is Andrew Gunn, alongside former Disney executive Kristin Burr. 

Fans of the original "Freaky Friday" can anticipate the return of Lindsay Lohan and Jamie Lee Curtis's captivating on-screen chemistry, supported by a diverse cast promising a mix of nostalgia and new adventures.
