Rihanna is risking sounding like a total hypocrite if that would mean getting new music from one of her favorite artists right now.

On Tuesday, GloRilla shared an Instagram DM from none other than Bad Girl Riri. In the message, the "Diamonds" singer asked the 24-year-old rapper when she would be releasing her new album.

"You got all summer sis! I know dis wild hypocritical, but when the album drop?" RiRi's message to the "TGIF" artist read, accompanied by several emojis.

Interestingly, Rihanna acknowledged that her question might come off as "wild hypocritical" since she has not released a new album herself in almost nine years. The hiatus comes despite major clamor from her fans, begging the Fenty Beauty founder to release new music.

Rihanna's last studio album, "Anti", was released in 2016. While she has featured in a few songs, including PartyNextDoor's "Believe It" in 2020 and two songs for the "Black Panther: Wakanda Forever" OST, she has not dropped any singles or a full album.

However, the mom of two has teased about her new album, dubbed "R9" by fans, multiple times.

In April, she spoke about R9, telling Extra that the new record will be "amazing!"

"It has to be -- that is the only reason it's not out yet," the Barbados beauty said.

"If I'm not feeling it and I'm not feeling like it represents the evolution, the time I spent away. There should be a show of growth, right? I want to play, and I feel like music is a playground, and I want to have fun with it and show truly where I am at."

Despite some interesting info, Rihanna didn't reveal when the much-anticipated R9 release date would be.

As for GloRilla, she just performed at the 2024 BET Awards on Sunday, with a surprise appearance by Megan Thee Stallion.

She was also nominated for two BETs -- Best Female Hip-Hop Artist and BET Her -- but failed to take home a win.
