Minnesota Vikings player Khyree Jackson was killed in a car crash in Maryland on Saturday. He was 24.

Photos from the crash site published by TMZ showed the maroon Dodge Charger that Jackson and two others were riding completely wrecked.

The vehicle looked flattened in the images, and the back part had been separated from the rest of the car.

Jackson was driving in the Dodge Charger with Isaiah Hazel and Anthony Lytton in Upper Marlboro early Saturday morning when a silver Infiniti struck their vehicle, Maryland State Police told the outlet.

The collision occurred after the driver of the Infiniti attempted to change lanes while driving at high speed.

The impact caused the Dodge Charger to collide with a moving Chevy Impala before it barreled off the road.

The Dodge Charger eventually came to a stop after it hit trees.

Jackson and Hazel were pronounced dead at the scene by paramedics.

Lytton was brought to a nearby hospital, where he later died.

No other injuries or casualties were reported in the incident.

The New York Post identified Hazel and Lytton as Jackson's former football teammates at Dr. Henry A. Wise Jr. High School in Upper Marlboro.

The investigation into the crash is ongoing. No arrests have been mde so far.

Jackson's mother Ebbony Jackson confirmed her son's death, telling TMZ that she received a call about his passing at 4 a.m. EDT Saturday.

Vikings head coach Kevin O'Connell issued a statement on the cornerback's passing via the team's official account on X, formerly Twitter.

"I am absolutely crushed by this news. Khyree brought a contagious energy to our facility and our team. His confidence and engaging personality immediately drew his teammates to him," O'Connell said.

"In our short time together, it was evident Khyree was going to develop into a tremendous professional football player, but what was more impressive was his desire to become the best person he could be for his family and those around him," he continued. "I am at a loss for words. My heart goes out to Khyree's family, friends, teammates and coaches."

Jackson was selected by the Vikings in the fourth round of the 2024 NFL Draft in April.
