Sydney Sweeney Photos In Tiny Top, Miniskirt Go Viral; Accused Of 'Purposely' Oversexualizing Herself
Sydney Sweeney flaunted her assets in new viral mirror selfies, but some fans think the photos only serve to fuel the online discourse about her body.
On Saturday, Sweeney shared on Instagram a series of photos showing her posing in front of a mirror in a tiny black tube top and a matching miniskirt.
Sweeney's outfit, which reportedly cost $4,000, was paired with a gray tote bag. Both were from the brand Miu Miu, according to TMZ.
One snap featured the "Euphoria" star sticking her tongue out while appearing to hike up her strapless top.
Sweeney showed the back of her outfit in a second image and kneeled on the floor in another snap.
The last picture showed the 26-year-old actress bending at the waist with an arm wrapped across her abdomen.
"I don't do mirror selfies often but when I do they are chaotic," she captioned the photos, which received over 3.5 million likes on Instagram just hours after being posted.
While Sweeney's new sexy photos sent most of her fans into a frenzy, some suggested she's oversexualizing herself.
"I almost feel like she's purposely trying to oversexualize herself at this point, which sells, so like good for her... I just wonder how it feels emotionally for her," one person commented on her photos.
Another claimed, "It's embarrassing at this point, I swear. Nothing wrong with showing some boobs, but this is really desperate. One would think you would want to be taken seriously as an actress and not base your career on your boobs."
But many other users across various social media platforms simply showered Sweeney with praise over her latest photos.
"If this is chaos, then inject it into my veins," one Instagram user commented.
"Sydney Sweeney is the white woman of the year," another person wrote on X, formerly Twitter, alongside a selfie showing a close-up of the actress' cleavage.
"Sydney Sweeney is the kinda woman you put in your wallet during the war," read another tweet.
"She can gladly ruin my life," another commenter declared.
Earlier this year, Sweeney opened up to Variety about being oversexualized following the viral reaction to her "Saturday Night Live" hosting gig, which saw her donning a revealing Hooters waitress uniform for one sketch.
When asked about the comments about her body, she admitted to seeing the remarks but felt she "can't allow [herself] to have a reaction" to them.
"I don't know how to explain it -- I'm still trying to figure it out myself," Sweeney explained.
The "Madame Web" star suggested that the remarks likely stemmed from people feeling that she "signed [her] life away" and was "not on a human level anymore" because she's an actress.
"[People believe] that these characters are for everybody else, but then me as Sydney is not for me anymore," Sweeney added. "It's this weird relationship that people have with me that I have no control or say over."
