Kandi Burruss thinks LaTocha Scott learned about her relationship with Jermaine Dupri after her former Xscape bandmate got ahold of her stolen diary.

The "Real Housewives of Atlanta" alum recently opened up about her past relationship with the music producer -- which was rumored to have caused tensions within Xscape and contributed to the '90s R&B group's disbandment.

During an interview on TV One's "Uncensored," which aired Sunday, Burruss shared that she began secretly dating Dupri following the release of Xscape's "Off the Hook" album in 1995.

The 48-year-old singer and reality star explained that she and Dupri kept things low-key and seemed "like totally just cool friends" when they were with others.

"You couldn't tell anything by sitting in a room with us," she recalled. "It wasn't a public relationship. It was very much so private."

According to Burruss, she told only her Xscape co-stars and then-best friends Tameka "Tiny" Harris and Tamika Scott about the relationship, apparently keeping it secret from LaTocha.

Due to this, it came as a shock to Burruss when LaTocha revealed that she knew about her romance with the So So Def Recordings founder.

"Tiny and Tamika Scott, we used to share a lot of secrets with each other. The three of us. They knew from the beginning. They always knew. Tamika did not tell her sister [LaTocha], but she knew," Burruss said.

She claimed LaTocha only learned about it after Burruss' diary -- in which she wrote about her relationship with Dupri -- went missing during their tour.

"Somebody stole my diary on tour. Now, I can't say that Tocha herself stole my diary... but somebody that was close to her definitely got ahold [of] it," Burruss claimed, adding that she did not suspect Tamika and Tiny because they already knew about the contents of the journal.

Burruss said she suspected LaTocha had her stolen diary after her co-star also brought up a secret relationship Tiny had with an unknown man during an argument between the Xscape members on a tour bus.

According to Burruss, she was the only one Tiny had confided to, and she had written about this secret in her diary.

"I'm livid," Burruss said of the news of her relationship with Dupri getting leaked. "But I can't prove who took the diary. I had an idea. I felt like I knew who took it but I couldn't prove it, so I couldn't do anything about it."

"[LaTocha] knew it all of a sudden," she continued. "Right after my diary [got] stolen. It ain't a damn coincidence. You could put two and two together. Even Tiny was like, 'Oh, that's some bulls**t.'"

Dupri previously shut down the rumors that his relationship with Burruss caused Xscape to go their separate ways in 1998.

During a 2019 interview with "Uncensored," the music producer blamed his songs as well as LaTocha and Burruss' rivalry for causing "friction" among the members.

He claimed that LaTocha was not happy when he gave his songs to Burruss to sing.

"Because Xscape was Tocha's group. Whoever's group it is that means they think they're the lead singer," he explained.

Dupri denied claims that he chose Burruss to perform the songs because of their romance.

"I wasn't even thinking like that," he insisted. "Like I said, I was thinking about the sound I heard in my head."
