Torrei Hart Reveals She Told Kevin Hart To Stop Mentioning Her In His Material Because That Money Isn't 'Coming To Me Anymore'
In a resurfaced episode of 'The Culture Club,' Torrei Hart openly discussed a crucial conversation she had with Kevin Hart about his early standup material.
The Philadelphia native has frequently took credit for inspiring some of the jokes used by the 'Ride Along' actor in his early stand-up routines and televised specials. Despite her assistance, Torrei revealed she demanded her ex-husband refrain from mentioning her in his comedy specials.
The actress felt that his references not only put her in an uncomfortable position but also lacked any financial benefits for her.
During a segment where host Claudia Jordan broached the topic of maintaining amicable relationships with former partners, fellow guest Tameka Foster shared her own struggles with her ex-husband, Usher Raymond, whose public statements impacted her career prospects, according to her.
Torrei, 46, expressed empathy with Foster's situation, sharing how she and Kevin reached an agreement regarding the jokes he made about her.

"I've had somebody tell me, Claudia, that 'We love you... We want to work with you... but we're scared because of Kevin,' " she recalled in 2022.
"I'm like, 'Scared of what? He's never gonna work with you... Ever?' " she joked. " 'What are you scared of? You don't have a chance in hell to work with him.' So what I don't understand what she's scared about."
She continued: "I was like 'Kev, like, the last Netflix special ... like, before I was getting paid off them jokes.' I'm like, 'None of that money's coming to me anymore.' So, yes, stop putting me in the jokes, because I just don't like it anymore," Torrei explained.
"That's when he started realizing, like, 'Oh yeah. OK. You're right.' So that's when a turning point happened for us and when I got out of the material more, it [their relationship] became better," the mother of two recalled.
Kevin and Torrei first met in 2001 in Philadelphia while attending community college. They both shared a passion for comedy, 'Hot New Hip Hop' reports.
After their engagement eight months later, they married in 2003 in a private ceremony. Two years later, they welcomed their first child, a daughter Heaven Leigh, and a son, Hendrix, three years later.
Eight years of marriage passed when the couple filed for divorce. Torrei later claimed to 'PEOPLE' Kevin cheated on her in 2009 with his now-wife Eniko Parrish, something Eniko vehemently denied.
