Jennifer Lopez Wants All The Money She ‘Invested’ In Ben Affleck Marriage Back After He Allegedly ‘Abandoned Her’: Report
Jennifer Lopez wants Ben Affleck to return all the money she spent in their marriage, according to a source.
Lopez, 54, and Affleck, 51, have been plagued with divorce rumors for months. She seemingly fueled the speculations about her marriage over the weekend by sharing a throwback music video of her 2021 hit breakup song "Cambia el Paso." An unnamed tipster also claimed that the "Love Don't Cost a Thing" singer felt it was time that Affleck pay her back for the money she shed while they were together. Affleck and Lopez have been living separately.
"One of the little-known secrets is Jennifer paid for much of their marital expenses and now she feels he owes her," an insider told Radar Online. "She's adding up all those private jet bills she puts on her plastic, the hotels and meals, clothes, coffee runs, gas. The high cost of living was done on her dime. She paid the lion's share for that $60 million mansion they bought, too."
The tipster added, "Ben took so much money out of her; at least, that's what she's saying."
Lopez has a net worth of $400 million, while Affleck is worth $150 million. With their marriage allegedly ending, the "Hustlers" actress wants all her money back, mainly because it is reportedly Affleck who quit their union.
"She's demanding a full inventory of what she spent versus what he spent and wants all the money back she 'invested.' She isn't the one who gave up on their marriage and she's feeling seriously burned and is out for blood," the insider alleged.
"If he had stayed in the marriage like a good boy, she wouldn't have minded. But he abandoned her and ultimately, Jennifer always gets payback and now she's ready to play hardball."
Another tipster previously told Us Weekly that Lopez and Affleck's marital woes were "exacerbated" by their different approaches to parenting and finances. A different insider alleged that Lopez's spending troubled her husband.
"Ben may be a gambler, but even he knows when to quit," a source told In Touch. "Jennifer's spending is troubling him more and more."
The source claimed that when the celebrity couple was looking for their marital home, Affleck thought they would purchase a $20 million property. However, Lopez allegedly "overruled him" into buying a $60 million mansion.
"Their bills are through the roof," the snitch claimed. "It's all eating away at their bank accounts. The pressure to make money keeps intensifying."
Lopez also put $20 million of her own money to produce "The Greatest Love Story Never Told," which documented her and Affleck's romance. Her longtime producer and partner, Elaine Goldsmith-Thomas, admitted she was surprised with what JLo did after a potential partner for the project pulled out.
"'What are you doing?' I was worried. 'Why are you sharing your story? It's too personal. Stop it.' It made me uncomfortable for her," Goldsmith-Thomas shared.
Affleck had already moved out from his $60 million marital home with Lopez. He is staying in a rental home in the Brentwood neighborhood near his ex-wife Jennifer Garner's home. The exes share three children -- Violet, 18, Fin, 15, and Samuel, 12. Also, Affleck and Lopez had already put their marital mansion up for sale.
