Kevin Hart is facing a bombshell lawsuit from his former friend, Jonathan "JT" Jackson.

Based on the court documents obtained by In Touch, Jackson sued Hart for $12 million after he allegedly breached a written contract. He also accused the "Central Intelligence" star of fraud and intentional infliction of emotional distress.

In the lawsuit, Jackson said he has a "notable career in the entertainment industry, marked by significant achievements and contributions." However, his reputation was unjustly tarnished due to a series of malicious actions by the defendants, leading to profound emotional distress, financial losses, and professional setbacks."

According to Jackson, Hart was involved in a highly publicized sex tape scandal with Montia Sabbag in August 2017. Jackson was wrongfully accused of false extortion after the scandal.

In 2020, Sabbag also sued Hart alleging he was aware that their consensual sex in a Las Vegas hotel in 2017 was being filmed. However, the $60 million lawsuit was dismissed. The California judge said the suit was "brought in the wrong venue."

Jackson clarified that Hart did not personally accuse him, but the "Man From Toronto" star "contributed to the initiation of these false claims." The Los Angeles County District Attorney's Office reportedly raided his place following an extortion report "falsely reported" by Hart and his team.

"The baseless nature of these extortion accusations led to [Jonathan's] wrongful arrest following a second, similarly fabricated extortion report falsely made by [Kevin] on April 27, 2018," the filing read.

Additionally, Kevin reportedly released a 2019 stand-up special accusing him of extortion and involvement in the sex tape's creation and dissemination. Jackson said millions of people watched the special, and it "significantly influenced public opinion and damaged" his reputation with the entertainment industry.

Jackson also accused Hart of submitting "fabricated evidence" to the DA's office that allegedly caused "significant harm" to him. He is seeking $12 million in damages from Hart.

In July 2021, Jackson and Hart reached a settlement that required the latter to "pursue and advocate for the dismissal of the criminal charges against [Jonathan] and make a public statement exonerating him." He was hoping that the agreement would help him rehabilitate his image and return to his professional life and be "free from the shadow of the unfounded criminal accusations."

However, Hart allegedly "blatantly breached the contract by failing to issue the agreed-upon public statement exonerating [Jonathan], causing significant harm and irreparable damage." Jackson also shared the agreed statement that Hart was supposed to read but didn't do.

"The last three years of my life definitely seen its share of ups and down ... I'm proud to say that all charges against JT Jackson have been dropped and he is not guilty and had nothing to do with it and this matter at hand that once was so tough to deal with and so heavy for me and my household is now put to bed," the statement read.

Hart did not immediately respond to In Touch's request for comment.
