Benji Gregory, the actor who gained fame as a child star on the 1980s sitcom 'Alf,' has died.

He was 46.

The news of his death was announced by his sister, Rebecca Hertzberg-Pfaffinger, in a post on Facebook.

"It is with a heavy heart my family has suffered a loss way too early," she wrote. "Ben was a great son, brother and uncle. He was fun to be around and made us laugh quite often. Still, going through his things, I find myself laughing at little videos or notes of his, in between crying."

According to Hertzberg-Pfaffinger, Gregory was found dead in his vehicle on June 13, along with his cherished service dog, Hans, who also passed away. It appears Gregory intended to deposit residual checks at a bank but never exited the car to complete the transaction.

"He fell asleep and died from vehicular heatstroke," Hertzberg-Pfaffinger stated.

The Maricopa County Medical Examiner's Office in Arizona informed 'TMZ' that an official cause of death is still pending.

Gregory's cousin, Camille Jazzy Jenkins, stated on Facebook that their family "has lost one of the most beloved and wonderful men in our small circle."

"It has taken some time to process and come to terms with our loss," Jenkins stated. "We are not okay, but take comfort knowing he is with his grandmothers."

In their posts, Jenkins and Hertzberg-Pfaffinger shared a series of photographs showcasing moments with Gregory.

According to his sister, who spoke with 'TMZ,' Gregory struggled with depression and bipolar disorder. Additionally, he faced challenges with a sleep condition that frequently caused him to stay awake for extended periods.
