Donald Trump reacted to George Clooney's call for Joe Biden to quit the presidential race.

The "Ocean's Eleven" actor penned an op-ed for the New York Times on Wednesday. In the piece, Clooney publicly asked Biden to step down following his disastrous performance in the first presidential debate against Trump last month. However, the "Apprentice" star wasn't impressed and came after Clooney, saying what he had done was an act of betrayal.

"I thought George Clooney was very disloyal because whether you like Biden or not, you know, he's been nice to Clooney. I thought it was very disloyal. Backstabber. A third-rate movie actor," Trump said, per the Wrap.

"He was a television actor and never made a really good movie."

Clooney, a prominent Democrat supporter, called for a "new nominee" for the Democrats. His op-ed came just weeks after he headlined a major fundraiser for the POTUS' reelection. On June 15, the record-breaking fundraiser for Biden's reelection, which he hosted, raised at least $28 million.

In Clooney's piece, he expressed his love for Biden. However, he didn't think the 81-year-old president would beat Trump in the election after witnessing his performance at the debate on June 27.

"I love Joe Biden. As a senator. As a vice president and as president. I consider him a friend, and I believe in him. Believe in his character. Believe in his morals. In the last four years, he's won many of the battles he's faced," Clooney wrote.

"But the one battle he cannot win is the fight against time. None of us can. It's devastating to say it, but the Joe Biden I was with three weeks ago at the fund-raiser was not the Joe 'big F-ing deal' Biden of 2010. He wasn't even the Joe Biden of 2020. He was the same man we all witnessed at the debate."

He continued, "We are not going to win in November with this president. On top of that, we won't win the House, and we're going to lose the Senate. This isn't only my opinion; this is the opinion of every senator and Congress member and governor who I've spoken with in private. Every single one, irrespective of what he or she is saying publicly."

Clooney's call for Biden to drop out of the presidential race received mixed responses. Some agreed, while others criticized him, such as Trump. A number also continued to show their support for Biden.

"With George Clooney publicly asking for Biden to step down, will he pay back the $30 million to the donors he conned into giving Joe just 3 weeks ago? Frauds," one commented.

"What a hero George Clooney is for coming forward 3 weeks after his fundraiser to declare Joe Biden a vegetable #Clooney," another added sarcastically.

"The voters have not turned their back on my President Biden. The voters still support Biden biden. The George Clooney's of the world did not stop to ask us. We still support #BidenHarris2024," a third person opined.

Whoopi Goldberg also voiced her support for Biden. In an episode of "The View," she said that she would still vote for the POTUS even if he pooped his pants.

"I don't care if he's pooped his pants, I don't care if he can't put a sentence together. Show me he can't do the job, and I'll say, okay, maybe it's time to go," Goldberg said.
