Joe Biden has been blamed by many after Donald Trump was shot during a rally in Philadelphia on Saturday.

Biden has already released a statement about the shooting incident that ensued at Trump's rally in Butler, Pennsylvania. The U.S. President said he was "grateful" that Trump was "safe and doing well," Fox News reported. However, this didn't stop several social media users from blaming him due to a statement he made a week ago that many believed incited violence against the former president.

"Just days ago, Biden said, 'It's time to put Trump in a bullseye.' Today, there was an assassination attempt against President Trump," Senator Marsha Blackburn tweeted.

"Days after Biden says, 'We're done talking about the debate, it's time to put Trump in a bullseye.' Trump is shot! Blood on Biden's hands!" Richard M Hancock added.

"Charge him for INCITING AN ASSASSINATION attempt!" another commented.

Biden's tweet about the shooting incident was also flooded with several comments putting the blame on him due to his previous remark.

"YOU are responsible for this!" one wrote.

Another added, "You threatened Trump [a] few days ago."

"You caused this with your rhetoric, you demonic bastard," a different person opined.

"You incited this by saying that Trump and his supporters would end democracy. You have blood on your hands. Resign in disgrace," another claimed.

Although many blamed Biden for Trump's shooting, several remained strong in showing their support for his reelection.

"Strong statement. If the situation were reversed, we wouldn't have such a calming and presidential address. It's important we keep you in [the] office. Violence needs to be condemned, not incited. #VoteBlue," one supporter wrote.

Another fan wrote, "Nice statement. Glad Trump is okay and I hope President Biden continues to try to unify us."

"Thank you, Mr. President. You are a beacon of hope," a third person said.

"Thank you, Mr. President, you're a class act," a different commenter wrote with a blue heart emoji.

In a private call with the National Finance Committee on July 8, Biden reportedly told his donors that he was "done talking about the debate" and encouraged them to avoid distractions. He also said that his only job was to beat Trump, and it was time to put the ex-POTUS in a "bullseye."

"We need to move forward. Look, we have roughly 40 days til the convention, 120 days til the election. We can't waste any more time being distracted," Biden said during the private call, per Politico. "I have one job, and that's to beat Donald Trump. I'm absolutely certain I'm the best person to be able to do that. So, we're done talking about the debate, it's time to put Trump in a bullseye."

The shooting incident is already being investigated as a possible assassination attempt amid the divided reports on what hit Trump's ear. Some reports claimed it was a piece of glass from the teleprompter, while others alleged it was a bullet. Some netizens also accused Trump of staging the shooting to gain more votes.

Trump addressed the incident in a post on Truth Social and said he was indeed shot, and it hit his right ear.

"I was shot with a bullet that pierced the upper part of my right ear. I knew immediately that something was wrong in that I heard a whizzing sound, shots, and immediately felt the bullet ripping through the skin," Trump wrote. "Much bleeding took place, so I realized then what was happening. GOD BLESS AMERICA!"
