50 Cent Is 'Trending' After Trump Gets Shot In Assassination Attempt In Pennsylvania
50 Cent trended on social media following Donald Trump's shooting in Pennsylvania on Saturday.
The "In da Club" rapper took to X, formerly Twitter, and shared an edited photo of his album cover for "Get Rich or Die Tryin'" on Sunday. He replaced his face on the cover with Trump's and accompanied the post with a brief caption while promoting his "Humor & Harmony Weekend" show.
"Trump gets shot, and now I'm trending," he wrote with a man-shrugging emoji.
True enough, his post quickly gained attention on the platform. It has been viewed 16 million times as of press time. It has also been reposted more than 37,000 times and liked by more than 393,000 people.
50 Cent showed the same photo he posted on X at his show in Boston on Sunday night when he performed his hit "Many Men" in an apparent nod to the former president after he survived what was reportedly an assassination attempt, the Mirror reported.
"Many men wish death upon me / Blood in my eye, dawg, and I can't see / I'm tryin' to be what I'm destined to be / And n****s tryin' to take my life away," read the lyrics of the song.
A clip of 50 Cent's performance from Boston with the edited photo of his album cover featuring Trump also made the rounds on social media.
"@50cent shouts out Trump in Boston tonight and displays Album Cover with @TheDonaldTrump face. #Trump #Politics #Boston #BigNightLive - Regardless of your opinion on Trump, what happened today should never happen. Wishing Trump and all involved my prayers and thoughts. #USA," Jordan T Avery, a human rights commissioner, wrote along with the video of 50 Cent's performance.
Trump was on stage at a rally in Butler, Pennsylvania, when someone reportedly tried to shoot him. The ex-POTUS was speaking and suddenly grasped his right ear as loud bangs were heard nearby. He ducked down to hide behind the podium as the U.S. Secret Service agents immediately swarmed the stage to cover him. When he stood up, blood could be seen on his face after the bullet hit his ear.
There were divided reports about the incident, with some claiming a piece of glass from the teleprompter caused the injury, while others said it was a bullet. A number of netizens also questioned the incident, with some accusing Trump of staging the shooting incident.
"Now I am pretty sure that this crap was staged by Trump himself," one wrote on X.
Another added, "This has to be the fakest thing I've seen on the internet in years."
Trump addressed the incident on Truth Social. The former president said he was "shot with a bullet" that pierced through the upper part of his right ear.
