Janelle Monáe Hilariously Recreates Michael Jackson's Infamous Balcony Scene With Blanket In Berlin — WATCH
Michael Jackson's legacy endures more than a decade after his death, remembered not only for his music but also for his unforgettable moments.
Janelle Monáe recreated the late pop star's infamous incident in which he held his son, then 9-month-old Blanket, over a hotel balcony in Berlin.
In an online video, the "Make Me Feel" singer sported a red shirt reminiscent of Jackson's outfit. She held a robot dog as a stand-in for baby Blanket before approaching an open window.
Monáe, 38, placed a white handkerchief over the robot and briefly dangled it over the balcony, quickly pulling it back with a puzzled expression. She then stepped back, threw the handkerchief outside, and waved to pretend fans below.

It remains uncertain whether Janelle was at the same hotel where Michael Jackson dangled Blanket, but she has been touring Europe for the "Music of the Spheres World Tour." Her performances in Düsseldorf, Germany, are slated for July 20, 21, and 23.
Following the original incident on November 20, 2002, the "King of Pop" admitted he made a "terrible mistake."
"I got caught up in the excitement of the moment," he said, according to the 'BBC.' "I would never intentionally endanger the lives of my children."
Jackson and his family was staying at Hotel Aldo in Berlin, Germany. The next morning, Jackson was ridiculed by the media the following morning, calling The Jackson 5 singer a "lunatic" and a "bad dad."
Jackson died on June 25, 2009. Less than three weeks before his sold-out London concert residency, he suffered from cardiac arrest, caused by a propofol and benzodiazepine overdose. He was 50.
