The body of a famous Chinese influencer believed to have been missing for weeks was found dismembered and decomposing on the outskirts of Thailand.

The badly decomposed remains of a woman believed to be 38-year-old TikToker Yan Ruimin were found on Saturday in Chachoengsao, 50km east of Bangkok, the Toronto Sun reported.

Police reportedly discovered a skeleton and severed human legs in the deserted site.

Yan is a travel influencer who has documented her trips across several Asian countries. She previously visited Malaysia and Singapore before arriving solo in Thailand in late June.

The content creator was reported missing on July 12 by a friend who last heard from her on June 30, the Chinese News Asia reported. Yan previously mentioned her plans to visit Phuket but never arrived at her destination.

Authorities believe the kidnapping and murder were personal, the Sun noted.

Thai investigators said a suspect has been arrested for the crime in Macau. Identified as Ma Qingyan by Thai Media, the man was arrested for attempting to pawn a fake luxury watch on July 10.

He was later arrested trying to flee to Hong Kong, said another CNA report. The suspect has been transferred to mainland authorities.

Yan has over 11,000 followers on the Chinese social media platform Xiaohongshu under the username Ruiming.

Her last post showed her partying in Macau in May.

The news comes as several tourist kidnappings and crimes have been reported recently in Thailand.

On Tuesday, six people, including two U.S. citizens, were found dead in a luxury hotel from apparent cyanide poisoning.

Police were called to the Grand Hyatt Erawan in Bangkok after a staff member found the guests dead inside a suite. Authorities found the group's bodies with a table full of untouched food and cups with traces of white powder, CNN reported.

"Cyanide was found in the liquid inside the teapot, in all six coffee cups," forensic office chief Trairong Phiewphan said in a press conference.

It is still unknown whether the deceased were murdered or chose to take their own lives.
