Queen Camilla Wore A $1 Million Crown For A Double Celebration
Queen Camilla was a head-turner at a recent royal engagement as she wore a crown reportedly worth $1 million.
King Charles III and Queen Camilla attended the State Opening of Parliament on July 17 at the House of Lords chamber within the Palace of Westminster. The monarch and the queen helped reveal U.K. Prime Minister Keir Starmer's new legislation to start the parliamentary year formally.
Queen Camilla, who was also celebrating her 77th birthday on the day, wore a long white dress designed by Fiona Clare. However, it was her "distinct" headpiece that had people talking, especially since it's steeped in royal tradition.

"There was much anticipation around which headpiece Queen Camilla might be wearing ... She wore the renowned Diamond Diadem, estimated to be worth an astonishing £800,000 ($1.033 million)," Tony French, regional sales manager at Austen & Blake, told GB News.
"The regal headpiece is adorned with diamonds and pearls, with magnificent attention to detail."
The crown was the same one the late Queen Elizabeth II would wear when she would open the parliament beginning in 1953, Vanity Fair noted. It was commissioned by King George IV from Rundell, Bridge & Rundell in 1820, and it features over 1,300 diamonds and a yellow four-carat gem in the front cross.
French explained that the crosses represent the national emblems of England, which are roses; Ireland, shamrocks; and Scotland with the thistles.
"The central cross is distinct in its design too, featuring a beautiful four-carat yellow diamond," French added.
To mark the queen's birthday, the bells of Westminster Abbey were chimed, and a gun salute was also fired at the Tower of London by the Honourable Artillery Company.
