Serena Williams looked unrecognizable during one of her latest appearances, according to social media users, sparking rumors that the tennis champ has gotten filler, plastic surgery or skin bleaching.

The speculation surrounding Williams' appearance was reignited by her "Hot Ones" interview earlier this month.

In a clip posted by the show on its Instagram account from the sit-down, Williams opened up about her on-court grunts, which she described as a "form of breathing" that has now become a regular "part of [her] life."

The tennis legend looked stunning in a black pinstripe jacket and diamond necklace, with her honey-blonde hair styled in soft waves.

But while many were fascinated by the story behind Williams' iconic grunts, some social media users focused on her "very different" appearance.

"Her face looks very different...[thinking face emoji]," one person commented on the clip, while another asked, "What did she do to her face[?]"

"I know this has nothing to do with [what] they're talking about. But what is going on with Serena's face?" a third comment read.

Another observed, "Her face is barely moving."

While some suggested that it may have been due to a different makeup technique, several Instagram users speculated that Williams may have had lip filler injected or gone under the knife to achieve her new look.

"This that bad plastic surgery or side effects of steroids?" one user suggested.

"Them fillers [though]," another wrote.

"What has she been injecting in her face?" a third person questioned.

"You did too much Serena. You were so naturally pretty," a different user lamented.

A number of Instagram users also claimed that Williams' skin now appears much lighter than it did when she was younger.

"Damn, she's really going overboard with the skin bleaching," one person alleged.

"I swear she used to be Black," another commented, while someone else claimed Williams "looks like White Chicks."

But many others gushed over Williams, with one person commenting: "One of the greatest athletes of all time."

"I love her...she is so cool," another wrote, while a different user called her "a bada*s goddess."

The rumors surrounding Williams' face and skin color have been circulating for months.

Back in March, she also received similar comments when she appeared at 2024 Paris Fashion Week.

Under a video posted to X, formerly Twitter, of Williams telling fans to "own who you are" at Off-White's show, some users accused her of being hypocritical for preaching about self-love while allegedly altering her looks.

"The irony of her saying Black is popular while her melanin is damn near faded away," one comment read.

Another X user wrote: "She said be yourself. While looking like someone else."
