Ben Affleck Gives Up On Jennifer Lopez Marriage? Actor Buys New Home Solo
Ben Affleck has bought a new home in Los Angeles after he and his wife Jennifer Lopez put up their Beverly Hills marital home for sale.
After weeks of conflicting reports and rumors about the couple's marriage, TMZ suggested Saturday that Affleck and Lopez's divorce may now be "inevitable' following the "Justice League" star's property purchase.
Unnamed real estate sources told the outlet that Affleck closed escrow this week on a mansion in the exclusive Pacific Palisades neighborhood of L.A. for $20.5 million.
The Oscar winner's new residence comes with five bedrooms, six bathrooms and walk-in closets.
The multimillion-dollar property also has a family room, breakfast and dining areas, a media room, a den, a powder room and a guest house, among many other amenities.
The report comes nearly two months after TMZ first reported in early June that Affleck and Lopez had begun quietly trying to sell the massive $60 million home they bought together in May 2023 -- nearly a year after tying the knot.
At that point, the "Argo" director had already moved out of the property and into a rental in L.A.'s Brentwood neighborhood, while the "On the Floor" hitmaker had started house-hunting, according to the outlet.
People reported in late June that Affleck moved all of his belongings out of the Beverly Hills home while Lopez was on vacation in Europe.
The 12-bedroom, 24-bathroom property was officially listed for $68 million on July 11.
In addition to living separately and selling their marital home, Lopez and Affleck have not been spotted together in over a month, ditched their wedding rings several times and spent their second wedding anniversary and her 55th birthday apart, further fueling the rumors that their marriage is spiraling toward divorce.
Last week, an unnamed source told Fox News Digital that Lopez and Affleck "are not getting back together" but "have no plans to announce that they aren't a couple right now."
"JLo wanted to make it work really badly, he's just a different person to her now," the insider added.
However, a video reshared by Lopez on her Instagram Stories Wednesday sparked hope among fans that the couple is still trying to save their marriage.
In the video, Lopez's close pals Elaine Goldsmith-Thomas and Steve Mackie could be seen celebrating the singer's 55th birthday with her at her Hamptons home.
At one point, the video captured the framed pictures displayed in Lopez's home, and one of them was her and Affleck's wedding photo.
