Michelle Obama Announces New 'Overcoming' Workbook Days After Melania Trump Shared Release Date For Her Memoir
Michelle Obama is gearing up to release a new book.
The former first lady announced "OVERCOMING: A Workbook, based on The Light We Carry" on Instagram Wednesday.
"I'm so thrilled to let you know that OVERCOMING: A Workbook, based on The Light We Carry, is coming out on December 3!" she wrote in the post's caption. "It's filled with thoughtful activities, reflective writing prompts, habit tracking tools, and more - all meant to help you unlock your power, show up in your relationships, and share your whole self with others."
She concluded the post: "I can't wait to hear what you think of it! You can learn more at michelleobamabooks.com."
Obama's official website says "OVERCOMING: A Workbook," published by Crown Publishing Group, "presents creative activities, reflective writing prompts, habit tracking tools, and more to provide the ultimate guide to unlocking your small power, sharing your whole self, showing up in relationships, and of course, 'going high.' With her signature candor and warmth, Obama draws on her experiences to offer readers the tools and principles she has leaned on to overcome difficulties in all areas of life."
The website called the interactive workbook "Obama's call to pay attention to how you're feeling, notice what's being signaled by both your body and your mind, as well as her reminder to us all that it's okay to pace yourself, get a little rest, and speak of your struggles out loud."
This is one of many books penned by the Chicago native. Her memoir, 'Becoming,' was published on November 13, 2018. 'BBC' reports it was the highest-selling book published in the United States that year. It sold over two million copies in only 15 days.
The 60-year-old announced her lastest workbook days after Melania Trump announced the release of her memoir. The memoir will be available for purchase on September 24, just weeks before voters will choose between her husband, Donald Trump, or Kamala Harris for president in November.
The book, titled "Melania," is "a powerful and inspiring story of a woman who has carved her own path, overcome adversity and defined personal excellence," according to a press release.

The same day the first lady announced her memoir, Trump, 78, announced the release of his own project — a coffee table book titled "SAVE AMERICA."
According to 'CNBC,' the book's cover is the iconic photo of his attempted assassination on July 13 in Butler, Pennsylvania.
"OVERCOMING: A Workbook, based on The Light We Carry" is set to drop on December 3, 2024.
