Disney star Joshua Bassett says he saw hell, demons and Jesus Christ while high on ayahuasca.

Bassett opened up about his intense second experience tripping on the plant-based psychedelic drug during an appearance on the "Zach Sang Show" this week.

The "High School Musical: The Musical: The Series" star, 23, explained that he's "done enough" hallucinogenic drugs to know that what he saw while high was not a hallucination but rather "a real experience."

Recalling his experience taking ayahuasca for the second time, Bassett shared, "I felt ... spiritually naked, where there was no filter, no veil. And I realized the ugliness that is in me."

The "Stuck in the Middle" actor claimed that he then found his soul "falling to the pits of hell" -- something he previously did not believe existed.

"As I hit the ground in hell, I was surrounded by hundreds of thousands of demons who were mocking me and laughing at me and torturing me. As I thought about the abuses I experienced when I was a kid, they laughed and they mocked harder," Bassett claimed.

The "horrific" experience scared Bassett so much that he tried to grab his car keys and leave the ayahuasca group.

A trip-sitter stopped him from taking his keys because he was still under the influence of ayahuasca.

But Bassett claimed he saw "the devil" in the woman's eyes and began screaming in fear.

As he couldn't drive, Bassett decided to walk out of the venue to "cool off" -- only to see another spiritual figure.

"I look up and I see Jesus in the sky. And I'm like, 'There's no way,'" he claimed. "It was the most insane experience of my life."

Looking back at the experience, Bassett said he felt a "relief" but also a "terror" over the idea that "there's more to the spiritual world than [he's] aware."

According to the actor, his key takeaway from the whole thing was that "evil is real."

Bassett acknowledged that people will likely call him "crazy" over his story but repeatedly insisted that it was real.

He also said he was not endorsing ayahuasca.

According to WebMD, ayahuasca is a tea created using the stems of the ayahuasca vine and leaves from the chacruna shrub -- which contain "chemicals that can affect your senses."

Among the brew's effects on the mind are "loss of touch with reality" and "hearing sounds or seeing distorted images of things that aren't there," the website said.

Last year, Bassett divided social media when he abruptly revealed his religious beliefs on X, formerly Twitter.

"Jesus Christ is the only way. His death and resurrection are historically documented. turn away [from] hate, seek forgiveness and come home to Him," he tweeted in January 2023.

The tweet caused concern among some of his fans as it came on the heels of him tweeting that he was "struggling" and urging fans to "ask for help" if they needed it.

However, Bassett later clarified via Instagram Stories that he found "peace" in religion and was "better than [he's] have ever been."
