Ben Affleck's Bachelor Pad Purchase Was A 'Stab In The Heart' For Jennifer Lopez; Divorce Pushes Through: Report
Ben Affleck and Jennifer Lopez's divorce is imminent, insiders have claimed.
The Daily Mail, citing unnamed "friends" of the Hollywood power couple, reported that Lopez and Affleck have given up on their efforts to reconcile and have decided to end their marriage.
Lopez and Affleck have allegedly signed their divorce papers, though they have not filed them yet, the insiders claimed.
Enstarz could not independently verify this information.
"They finalized the divorce papers with her a month ago, but are waiting for the right time to drop them," one of the sources told the outlet. "At that time, they will release a joint statement that will say how they have much love for each other and how they fought to make it work, but couldn't."
Another insider claimed that though they fought hard to save their marriage, the Oscar winner and the multihyphenate ultimately "could not come to a compromise."
"What they had before is gone and they have both accepted it," the second source added.
The final nail in the coffin appeared to be the "Argo" director's purchase of a "bachelor pad" in Los Angeles last week.
People and TMZ reported that Affleck completed the purchase of the $20.5 million Pacific Palisades mansion on Lopez's 55th birthday on July 24.
An unnamed source told Radar Online that her husband's decision to buy the home alone was a "like stab in the heart" for Lopez as she'd still been hoping to make things work with him.
"Ben's decision to move into his own home is the final insult," the insider claimed. "JLo had been holding onto hope that there could be a reconciliation if they were to spend some time apart, but this is like a stab in the heart."
The couple tied the knot in Las Vegas in July 2022 -- just a little over a year after rekindling their romance.
However, less than two years after their wedding, Affleck moved out of their Beverly Hills marital home, fueling speculation that their marriage was on the rocks.
Affleck and Lopez officially put up their marital home for sale, and they've been living on opposite coasts over the past month.
The couple did not acknowledge their second wedding anniversary on July 16, and Affleck was a no-show at Lopez's birthday bash in the Hamptons.
