Cuba Gooding Jr. Says Being Named In Lil Rod's Lawsuit Against Diddy Is 'The Most Ridiculous Thing Ever'
Cuba Gooding Jr. has been embroiled in several lawsuits over the past few years.
However, this year, his name became entangled in Sean "Diddy" Combs' scandal after producer Rodney "Lil Rod" Jones implicated him in a lawsuit against the embattled music mogul.
Lil Rod alleged in his lawsuit that Diddy, 54, groomed him for inappropriate activities with other men. He also alleged the 'Jerry Maguire' actor groped his private parts and provided video screenshots as evidence of the alleged event.
The lawsuit claims "Mr. Combs had dominion and control over the actions of Cuba Gooding Jr. and failed to step in and stop Cuba Gooding Jr. from sexually assaulting Mr. Jones."
In an interview with 'Extra,' the 56-year-old dismissed Lil Rod's lawsuit as "the most ridiculous thing ever."
"Welcome to being a celebrity," he said. "Welcome to my world."
Cuba expressed his gratitude to God for helping him navigate through such situations. "It's that old saying: you can't please people every time," the New York native said. "But people who want to celebrate artistry, that's my job and that's my only mission in life."
Gooding, who pleaded guilty to a misdemeanor charge of forcible touching a woman he kissed at a New York nightclub in 2018, appeared on 'Dan Abrams Live' on Wednesday.
"Everything that happens in my life is for a reason," Gooding said. "I believe that, and if I continue to walk on my path, whatever that is, I know that the end result [will] be to make me stronger, to be a better person, to be a better father and right now that's the moment I am in."
Gooding's latest project, 'The Firing Squad,' hits theater Friday.
'IMDb' says the film is "Based on the true story of three Christian prisoners who face execution in a third world country and how their joy in Christ results in a stunning conclusion."
