Prince William is allegedly "spitting mad" after Prince Harry brought up their late mother Princess Diana in another interview.

The Duke of Sussex recently appeared in the ITV documentary "Tabloids on Trial," where he spoke about his ongoing legal war with British tabloid newspapers.

In the documentary, which aired late last month, Prince Harry speculated that Princess Diana was allegedly hacked by tabloid journalists before she died in a car crash in 1997.

Prince Harry's mention of their late mother reportedly reignited the ire of his estranged older brother Prince William, who allegedly feels that his younger sibling was "cashing in" on Princess Diana's death, an unnamed source claimed to Australian magazine New Idea.

"William is spitting mad that Harry would reference this again," the insider alleged to New Idea.

"He's so fed up with (the Sussexes) cashing in on Diana's death," the source continued. "Harry just won't move on and it appears that since marrying Meghan [Markle], the obsession with his mother has only intensified."

According to the source, Prince William was "getting to the point where he's washing his hands of Harry for good."

Enstarz could not independently verify this information.

During his recent sit-down with ITV News journalist Rebecca Barry, Prince Harry opened up about his reasons for suing U.K. publications over allegations of phone hacking and other unlawful acts

He explained that the alleged intrusions into his privacy by certain tabloids caused him "paranoia, fear, worry, concern" and distrust of the people around him.

Prince Harry alleged that Princess Diana was also a victim of such acts but was painted as "paranoid" by the press.

"There is evidence to suggest that she was being hacked in the mid-'90s, probably one of the first people to be hacked, and yet still today, the press, the tabloid press very much enjoy painting her as being paranoid," he claimed. "But she wasn't paranoid, she was absolutely right about what was happening to her. And she's not around today to find out the truth."

Prince Harry also admitted in the documentary that his ongoing fight against tabloids played a major role in his rift with the royal family.

"I think that's certainly a central piece to it," the Duke of Sussex said.

Prince Harry has been estranged from his older brother since he and Markle stepped back from their royal roles and moved to California in 2020.

An unnamed source told Page Six last month that the brothers have not been on speaking terms for over two years and that Prince William was "furious" over his younger brother's bombshell "Spare" memoir.
