‘The Bachelor’ Gia Allemand’s Mom Was on Phone When She Took Her Life: 'It Destroyed Me,' She Tells Dr. Phil [VIDEO]
Former Bachelor star Gia Allemand shockingly took her own life last month, and now her mother has opened up about what is was like to be on the other end of the phone when her daughter hanged herself.
In an emotional interview with Dr. Phil, Allemand’s mom Donna Micheletti cried while talking about the last time she spoke to her daughter.
“Because I’m the closest person in the world to her and she didn’t want to be alone when she left this world,” Micheletti said. “So she wanted Mommy to be there, I guess.” (Watch the interview below.)

As EnStars previously reported, The Bachelor alum argued with boyfriend Ryan Anderson just two hours before she hanged herself with a vacuum cleaner cord, according to a police report.
Allemand questioned whether he'd cheated on her, revealing her suspicions he'd been unfaithful. As Anderson dropped Allemand off at her New Orleans apartment, she told him that she still loved him; he replied, "I don't love you anymore," according to Anderson's statement to police.
Two hours later on Aug. 12, Anderson -- an NBA player with the New Orleans Pelicans -- found Allemand hanging, according to the police report obtained by TMZ.
He attempted to revive her until medical personnel arrived on the scene to take her to University Hospital, New Orleans, where she remained on life support until Wednesday, Aug. 14.
Speaking about Allemand in a statement just hours after her death, Anderson said he was "deeply grateful" for the love and support he had received. "Gia was the most beautiful person I knew inside and out, and she always smiled and made everyone else around her smile," he noted.
"She had such an amazing impact on my life and anyone that knew her was blessed," he continued. "All I have left is to cherish those memories we made together and help perpetuate the many values, faith, and love that we shared."
Allemand left a suicide note on the dining room table and in it left all of her property to her mother.
