Kristen Stewart Post-'Twilight' Gig, Net $500,000 From Prince For Hurricane Sandy Charity
Kristen Stewart reportedly earned $500,000 for a 15-minute meeting with a prince and secretly donated it to a charity that supports Hurricane Sandy relief victims.
The job and generous donation was revealed by Hollywood honcho Harvey Weinstein. The New York Times reported Tuesday. After the Hurricane Sandy Relief concert film 12.12.12. was screened on Sunday at the Toronto International Film Festival, Weinstein said a Middle Eastern prince proposed a generous offer.
The prince said he would donate to a Hurricane Sandy charity in exchange for time with Stewart, the producer noted.
"How much?" Weinstein said he asked the prince, whose name was not revealed.
The filmmaker said he raised the figure that was offered and negotiated $500,000. He then shared that after the hefty sum was paid in advance, the prince took up a private meeting with the Twilight star in a private room at Madison Square Garden.
"Kristen [sat] with the guy for 15 minutes," the report quoted Weinstein as saying.
According to Huffington Post Canada, Weinstein called Stewart immediately about the offer and she asked "how much?" He then joked to the audience that she was "My kind of girl."
The 12.12.12. concert film raised $30 million to benefit the Robin Hood Relief Fund. The movie features the music performances, celebrity presenters and behind-the-scenes footage of the event that took place on Dec. 12, 2012. A long of list of artists performed that night, including Bon Jovi, Eric Clapton, Dave Grohl, Billy Joel, Alicia Keys, Chris Martin, The Rolling Stones, Bruce Springsteen & the E Street Band, Eddie Vedder, Roger Waters, Kanye West, The Who and Paul McCartney.
